A nationwide strike is scheduled for tomorrow in South Africa, it has been a trend on Twitter for days with all venting their anger through #NationalShutdown, whether this is shut down will go beyond Twitter remains to be seen with less than 24 hours away. The reason being the current president is wanted out amongst other reason like inflation, unemployment and of course foreigners must go.
UK also is another country having it's workers go on strike due to inflation, without wages, salaries rising.
The world basically is in turmoil with unrest all over the globe. Everyday one survives calls for giving thanks.
It is saddening to see people still have so much faith in their governments, the help people want is never going to come from government. Get an increase in salary and then what next?
These strikes ends up having little or no positive impact on the lives of people. It is looking like a lot damage will be done before we start seeing solutions to alleviate poverty but until then the middle class gap appears to be closing.
As seen above the data shrinking on the middle class isn't encouraging giving expansion to lower and upper income earners, we might be having data in the region 45% if complied for current year.
Data published at the end of 2020 by the University of Cape Town Liberty Institute shows that South Africa’s shrinking middle-class has been years in the making, declining from 6.1 million to 2.7 million individuals between 2017 and June 2020, translating to a 55.73% reduction.

A look at South Africa tells a similar story, you are guaranteed a worsening result having to take a look at Nigeria, a country that keeps falling deeper in every aspect one can think of.
The middle class lives on $10-$20 daily which is R342 daily in South Africa. Commuting from Johannesburg to Pretoria daily for work will cost about R200, basically in cases like this one is just working to keep the head above water.
The opportunities within blockchain technology and cryptocurrency is to the rescue but not an immediate one, cryptocurrency does looks promising for those involve provided one is able to exercise patience and build portfolio(s) in cryptocurrency for future gains.
The middle class gap appears to be closing disturbingly, there is a chance to have it reverted for poverty alleviation through tapping onto the opportunities within the crypto space. Going on strikes, waiting on government to provide what is lacking isn't the best approach against an inflation ridden economy with high unemployment rate.
