I was a little taken back about this time last week...After hearing that the discussion was being had about $LEO essentially departing from the inflation model (and everything I've ever known about this blockchain lol) it hit me...Or better yet, it took me a whole week to process it.
I admit, I still don't have it all hammered down, but that's the reason for this post. Over the week, I've seen some questions pop up from the community and even questions from yours truly that I hope we can get answered.
Here's the FANTASTIC news....And it's directly from @khaleelkazi
Everything stays the same with how you use InLeo!
Big thing for me is....Getting away from the inflation model that this blockchain has been living off of. Is there a place for it and does it work on Hive? I think so for the levels it's reached so far, but like I've been saying last week...I'm all for trying something new. Let's see what happens when $LEO takes a major shift in how rewards are paid out.
This is exciting because the project will be tapping into so many different eco systems, and that has big potential for LEO to do some impressive things. Again, change isn't always a bad thing!
I wanted to go over a few questions I personally have and one from the community that I've seen brought up over the past week. Hope to get someone from @leofinance to go over them, get some discussion going and help other Lions on this new journey that the project is about to take on :)
1. What happens to rewards from @leo.voter
I saw a few comments about the mining tokens and that they will be going away, but the big question seemed to be around Leo Voter and how those rewards will be paid. I don't have a ton of Hive Power right now sent to Leo Voter but it does generate me some nice LEO rewards every day. Would love to know how that works going forward, or even if it's changed at all.
2. How will LEO be harder to earn?
I saw Khal mention in a comment that the key difference will be that it'll be harder to earn LEO. Is there a metric of sorts that will determine who gets rewarded from the buy backs? Will in take into account LEO stake, activity on the platform, etc? Which brings up curation rewards, and how that plays into the way we earn LEO going forward? Just looking for a look into how things will be 'harder' per se.
3. Will we have to move LEO from Hive Engine over to Leo Dex?
I am assuming this will be the case, but is there any definite answer to this? And better yet some kind of bridge that can help us technophobes to get it moved over safely and quickly?
I'm sure people will come up with a million more questions, and I can only assume the LEO team has been flooded with support desk questions about it all. But I do admit, this is a bit selfish because I want to get behind this stuff 1000000% and when I understand things better, I can become the biggest fan boy the world has ever seen lol
Looking forward to the answers but more importantly, the changes that look to be some of the more exciting news to come out of the project in years!
