Atkins emphasized reversing the regulatory enforcement approach of the prior administration, which he said crippled many crypto companies and drove them offshore. He intends to draft simple rules that encourage crypto firms to return and innovate in the U.S., including allowing multiple services and asset types under single licenses and supporting innovations like tokenized securities.
This policy shift reflects a marked change from previous SEC leadership and aligns with President Trump’s goal of making the U.S. the "crypto capital of the world".
