Now you have me on memory lane, thinking of 9 summers ago.
It was a broken system which is how we got someone making a make up tutorial that ended up with a $40,000 post reward
I remember Tara, the makeup girl. She dropped the video and S****** post just days after July 4th when we could actually move S**** tokens out of our wallet for the first time. She did cash out, and made another post about some charity work she did with some of the money.
Here is a link to the famous makeup tutorial post:
@guerrint/the-first-steemit-makeup-turtorial-bringing-youtubers-to-steemit
With an account name of "guarantee" it seemed that she could not fail!
But as you mentioned a broken system, if I recall correctly - as soon as she posted her tutorial, the front end failed or was halted due to the "javascript in image onload event" bug which let the hacker get access to any account that opened a certain post. In any case, the front end was down so no one could post, or vote - unless you were a programmer and knew how to vote on a post with your own code. The programmers around here were also the founding crowd who were and maybe still are whales. So they all voted up Tara's post which had no competition from any other posts!
Anyway, Long Live HIVE and Long Live LEO! I got a few hundred dollars worth of $LSTR yesterday. It seems like a leveraged play on LEO so I can catch up on packing my small LEO bags.
Thanks for your historical post which also got me thinking back in time. :)
