Hey, everyone! Being rewarded for onboarding and guiding new users is a great motivator to help grow the ecosystem. However, rewards also attract bad actors. For this reason, we’ve had to implement safety mechanisms to protect the referral rewards from being abused by bot activity.
In this clip:
- Protecting the referral program from abuse
- Accounts that don’t appear human will result in a ban from the referral program
- Manual appeal available if banned by the system
To prevent abuse of the referral rewards, our system analyzes the activity of referrals. If they don’t engage or don’t seem human, it will flag the referrer’s account as potentially using AI or bots to create accounts, and that account won’t be able to claim rewards.
If your account is mistakenly banned, you’ll need to manually appeal so the referrals can be verified and the account unbanned. There’s no public guide detailing exactly what’s required to claim rewards because that could allow abusers to find ways to bypass the safety mechanisms.
These boundaries were necessary to protect the referral system from abuse. As long as you’re onboarding real humans, you should be able to claim rewards without issues, as many are already doing.
