Hey, everyone! It’s common to talk about Hive Power and why it is important on the Hive Blockchain, but not many people understand the value of Resource Credits and why they are a key characteristic of Hive.
In this clip:
- Resource Credits as the value capture for the Hive token
- Business owners need to invest in Hive to scale their applications
- Delegating RC makes it easier for new users to start using an app
- INLEO aims to grow to the point where it needs to increase its Hive investment
Unlike other blockchains, where gas fees are paid with the token itself and can be expensive to build on, Hive operates more like a gas tank. You don’t need to keep buying the token to pay gas fees; instead, you buy it to scale, perform more transactions, and host a larger user base.
If a platform like Inleo grows to 10,000 monthly active users, we will need significantly more Resource Credits to store more data and delegate to new users, so we have to buy more Hive and stake it.
The average user won’t come in and buy and stake Hive; it’s the businesses that will buy and stake it, and that is where the growth in the value of the token will come from.
