With another round of purging from social media, people are looking for alternatives. Where does Hive stand in random recommendations on alt-news sites?
The big tech censorship continues, and Twitter is the spotlight along with Apple, Google and Amazon. Facebook is also silencing people too, having muted the Ron Paul account recently for the first time.
One may think it's "conservatives" or the right-leaning that are seeking to find greener pastures after their fellow ideologues have been cast out of their "public square". But "anarchists"/"voluntaryists" or what have you, are no fan or censorship, normally. There are also those who are true "liberals" and may be considered on the "left" that care about free speech. Where are they to go?
An article from Sovereign Man was posted on ZeroHedge titled As Tech Companies Purge Users, Here Are Some Alternatives. Alas, good news has arrived for the thousands (hundreds of thousands?) who view Zerohedge everyday.
But wait, where is Hive? The name might be new, but its more or less the OG Steem crowd, yet even Steem has no mention.
I wrote a comment to mention #hive and #threespeak. Maybe some will see it and decide to come by. Maybe a few of them will decide to try it out. And maybe a few those will stick around.
The complexity of hive is something that might be confusing for many. It sure takes getting used to. I wonder if the UIs could suggest some newbie-welcoming communities to post into as their first post. That might help people start off better.
Anyhoot, what do you think? Do you wanna go shoot a comment on the article and mention hive? Maybe it will help get the word around. Maybe not. We can try.
