Hello, LBIers. We have officially started our HBD saving journey and earning a 20% APY. Starting out small and with the hope to add 50 HBD per week, this will grow into a nice pile of stable tokens for us.

Where will the funding come from?
We can use HIVE content earnings to build our HBD savings account. To date, we have never powered down any HIVE power and built up just over 11,000. There is currently 10,000 delegated to leo.voter earning roughly 160 LEO per week at current prices. When we have 11,300 HIVE power, I will start a 1300 power down to receive 100 HIVE per week for 13 weeks. Each week, I'll convert enough HIVE to get us to 50 HBD and use the rest to either buy back some LEO are turn it into other investments. During these 13 weeks, I let the HIVE power balance grow and when the last power-down payout is complete, I will start a new HIVE power down to bring us down to 10,000 again. I'd guess the next power down will be for around 800 HIVE and then we our in the hands of the market from then on forward.
Of course, saving into HBDs will not be forever but I do think that it will take months to get to a good place. It's taken 16 months of building our HIVE POWER balance to have enough to power some down if that gives you an idea of the timeframe we'd be looking at. Anything over a year sounds like forever in crypto land but it's only a year. Remember back last year when CUBfinance first launched, yep that was only a year ago. Alot has changed since then back overall CUB farms still feel sorted newish.
Projections
Here are a few projections based on saving 50 HBD per week. I've done it into months as interest is paid once a month so the numbers are super accurate, but a good ballpark. Each month we would be saving 217 HBD while compounding the interest earned.
In total we would saved 2604 HBD and 300.08 from interest payments. If we were to stop adding 50 HBD per week and just let it compound for a further year, here are the results.
We would earn around 637 HBD in interest only which is pretty impressive for an under $3000 investment.
What if we continued to add 50 HBD for the second year? How would our holding and results differ?
Well, GOD DAMN, that's a huge difference in results. In total, we would save 5208 HBD and earn 972 HBD in interest.
Screw it, may as well look at 3 years. HERE's what it would be is we saved for 2 years and then stopped.
By the end, we'd had earned 1356 HBD for the year and be earning 123.55 per month.
If we saved 50 HBD for 3 years (not likely), here's what would happen.
We would be sitting pretty and would end year 3 of saving 50 HBD per week while compounding at 20% each month into a 5 figure nest egg. The total saved would be 7812 HBD and the total earned from interest would be 2364 HBD.
We could never do 3 years of saving because too many new things enter crypto and 3 years is an eternity to stick to the same plan. But here's what can be done with saving $50 per week for 3 years if your compounding at 20%.
Which is best for LBI?
Saving for 1,2 or 3 years?
Personally, I think the longer the better but 2-3 years would be best I feel. It's a long way off but we have to have an exit in mind for when the time comes to flip. During the next bear market when everything is getting destroyed and people are losing faith again, we'll be able to swap our stable tokens into some cheap cryptos when they are best to buy, during a bear market or a black swan event.
This current bullrun we are in is not the same as 2017 and the game has changed. We could right now either be at the start of the bear market are things are about to pop off during May and June. Hey, let's stack some stable tokens that earn us 20% and see what happens. We've no idea what will happen to the price of LEO ove the next 1-3 years and how this is affecting the price of the LBI token. When thinking more than 2-3 months ahead, it's hard to guess where comes will be.
