My Preparation for New Splinterlands Ranked System: My Chaos Legion Card Upgrades Using Splinterguide Suggestions
Season 129 is underway on Splinterlands and will end in just under 2 days.
The start of the next season will bring many changes in the game dynamics because the new Ranked System will be introduced.

With the new Ranked System will also change:
- the energy cost in DEC to recharge the energy bar (cost will vary depending on the league the player is in)
- the league entry thresholds (Rating Ranges).
- end of season rating resets
The change that will have the greatest impact on game dynamics will be the removal of card level league caps in ranked battles.
The removal of card level league caps will first and foremost produce a simplification of game dynamics and should also produce a change in card upgrades strategies by players.
In fact, prior to this change I was focused on upgrading the cards I liked and which I chose based on the stats and abilities of the maximum usable level in the Silver and Gold leagues of the Modern Format which are the leagues in which I usually play
With the new ranked system my focus will change and will always be on the maximum level of the summoner and monster cards that I consider most useful in battle.
For example and until a few days ago upgrading Wawe Brood to max level was not in my plans because, playing in the Silver - Gold leagues of Modern Format, I would never be able to benefit of the Return Fire ability that Wave Brood acquires at masism level (level 6).
After learning about the removal of the card level limit in the Diamond lower leagues I immediately upgraded Wave Brood to the maximum level.
I think the new Ranked System will revitalize the whole card market and will especially revitalize the market for buying Chaos Legion cards because they are the cards that have the lowest prices on average because there are so many cards out there and because there are cards in the Chaos Legion set that have very strong game stats compared to a relatively low price.
In today's post I share some upgrades of my monster cards from the Chaos Legion set that I chose to make to be more competitive when the new ranked system will be introduced.
To make the upgrades I chose to follow the suggestions and ratings of the Splinterguide site which is a useful site developed by @bravetofu and @hawks21 that assigns a rating to Splinterlands cards and provides a lot of useful information for Splinterlands players.
Today my focus was only on Chaos Legion cards, and for that reason at https://splinterguide.com/list/monsters I selected the Modern format, the Chaos Legion set, and I sorted the results by the rating assigned by Splinterguide in descending order.
I decided to proceed by element starting with the neutral element cards which are always my first choice of upgrades because neutral cards are the most versatile cards being able to be used with any summoner.
I was pleased to see that I already have in my collection the maximum level of 4 out of 5 neutral cards in the top 5 indicated by Splinterguide:
- CHAOS AGENT
- VENATOR KINJO
- EXCAVATION HIRELING
- URAEUS
- XENITH MONK
By the way just two days ago I upgraded to the highest level of Chaos Agent which is the highest rated card among the Chaos Legion cards of the neutral element: rating = 9.5
The only card among the top 5 that I do not have at the maximum level is Scavo Hireling.
In my collection I have 121 BCX of Scavo Hireling and to upgrade to the maximum level I would have to buy 279 BCX.
Scavo Hireling is a card that has kept its value fairly stable over a 180-day time span proving that it is a very useful card in battle especially when used in combination with cards that have the Weapon Training ability and in combination with cards that have armor points.
To purchase 279 BCX of Scavo Hireling I would have spent almost the maximum cost per BCX on the market today: $0.177 per BCX.
For this reason, I decided to immediately purchase only those cards on sale at a cost per BCX less than or equal to $0.150.
To achieve my upgrade goal I will make BID purchase offers through the Make Bid feature of Peakmonsters.
Regarding the Chaos Legion cards of the Dragon Elemental I already have in my collection all the maximum level cards in the Splinterguide list except Xyvax Vuul which is a card I have at level 2 and I haven't upgraded to the next levels because it is a card I hardly ever use in battle and in fact even for Splinterguide it is a card of little use because it has a really low rating: 2.5 out of 10.
In the top 5 of the death element there is only one card that I do not have at the maximum level: Riftwing
In fact, in my collection I have a total of 131 BCX and I use Riftwing of level 6 in battle**.
In this case I decided to upgrade to the maximum level right away because I found an affordable offer for 264 BCX to which I added another 5 BCX.
I spent a total of $5,424 = 5524.54 DEC - 132.58 DEC (cashback)
Even for the Life element cards, I was happy to see that I already have in my collection almost all the cards at the highest level that also have the highest rating given by Splinterguide.
The only card in Splinterguide's top 5 that I do not have at the maximum level is Vulguine.
Until now, I have not considered Vulguine as my upgrade target because it is a card that cannot attack from positions other than the first and because I could not use maximum level.
Vulguine has a relatively low cost per BCX and is a very useful card in battles with specific rulesets such as Super Sneak and Melee Mayeem and so I decided to upgrade to maximum level.
I purchased 94 BCX and spent $2.63 and now I also have Maximum Level Vulguine in my collection.
In the top 5 Chaos Legion cards of the Earth element indicated by Splinterguide in the first place is Queen Mycelia which is one of the Earth element cards I use the most and was also one of the first cards in the Chaos Legion set that I upgraded to the maximum level quite some time ago.
Regarding the Water element I have all the cards in the top 8 of Splinterguide and so I'll go straight to the Fire element cards.
Regarding the Fire element I have 6 out of 7 cards boosted to the maximum level among the cards that are in the top 7 of Splinterguide.
In first place is Countess Sinash which has a score of rating = 7.7
The only card I don't have at maximum level is Scavo Chemist but in this case I decided not to upgrade to maximum level because in most battles I will prefer Chaos Agent and Scavo Hireling which have a higher rating.
With the upgrades I made today, I have increased the number of top-level Chaos Legion cards in my card collection, and I hope that these cards will be useful in the coming season to achieve my short-term goal on Splinterlands: to return to playing stable from start to finish seasons in the Modern Format's Gold+ leagues!
Now in my Chaos Legion + Riftwatchers + Rebellion collection I have:
- 6 maximum level summoners
- 20 maximum level legendary cards
- 7 maximum level epic cards
- 29 top-level rare cards
- 20 maximum level common cards
I also have individual BCXs of Chaos Legion cards in my collection that I have already upgraded to maximum level. I will sell these BCXs to upgrade other cards that are my purchase targets but I will only put these cards up for sale after the new Ranked System starts because that is when their demand in the market may increase!
Today I made some steps forward in improving the battle strength of my collection of usable cards in the Modern Format, and I will wait with curiosity to see the effect the new Ranked System will have on my game results.

Su Splinterlands è in corso la stagione 129 che terminerà tra poco meno di 2 giorni.
L'inizio della prossima stagione porterà molti cambiamenti perchè sarà introdotto il nuovo Ranked System.

Con il nuovo Ranked System cambieranno anche:
- l'energy cost in DEC per ricaricare la barra dell'energia (costo variabile in base alla lega in cui si trova il giocatore)
- le soglie di ingresso nelle leghe (Rating Ranges)
- end of season rating resets
Il cambiamento che avrà l'impatto maggiore sulle dinamiche di gioco sarà la rimozione del card level league caps nelle ranked battles.
La rimozione del card level league caps produrrà innanzitutto una semplificazione delle dinamiche di gioco e dovrebbe produrre anche un cambiamento nelle strategie di upgrades delle carte da parte dei giocatori.
Infatti prima di questo cambiamento io ero focalizzato sull'upgrade delle carte che mi piacevano e che sceglievo in base alle statistiche e abilità del livello massimo utilizzabile nelle leghe Silver e Gold del Modern Format.
Con il nuovo ranked system il mio focus sarà sempre sul livello massimo delle carte evocatore e delle carte mostro che considererò più utili in battaglia.
Ad esempio nel vecchio ranked system fare l'upgrade di Wawe Brood al livello massimo non era nei miei piani perchè, giocando nelle leghe Silver - Gold del Modern Format, non avrei mai potuto beneficiare dell'abilità Return Fire che Wave Brood acquisisce al livello masismo (livello 6).
Dopo aver appreso della rimozione del limite del livello delle carte nelle leghe inferiori alle leghe Diamond ho subito fatto l'upgrade al livello massimo.
Penso che il nuovo Ranked System rivitalizzerà tutto il mercato delle carte e rivitalizzerà soprattutto il mercato di acquisto delle carte Chaos Legion perchè sono le carte che hanno mediamente i prezzi più bassi perchè ci sono tantissime carte in circolazione e perchè nel set Chaos Legion ci sono carte che hanno statistiche di gioco molto forti in rapporto ad un prezzo relativamente basso.
Nel post di oggi condivido alcuni upgrades delle mie carte mostro del set Chaos Legion che ho scelto di fare per essere più competitivo quando il nuovo ranked system sarà introdotto.
Per fare gli upgrades ho scelto di seguire i suggerimenti e le valutazioni del sito Splinterguide che è un utile sito sviluppato da @bravetofu e @hawks21 che assegna un rating alle carte di Splinterlands e fornisce molte informazioni utili ai giocatori di Splinterlands.
Oggi il mio focus era solo sulle carte Chaos Legion e per questo motivo su https://splinterguide.com/list/monsters ho selezionato il formato Modern, il set Chaos Legion e ho ordinato i risultati in base al rating assegnato da Splinterguide in ordine decrescente.
Ho deciso di procedere per elemento partendo dalle carte dell'elemento neutrale che sono sempre la mia prima scelta di upgrade perchè le carte neutrali sono le carte più versatili potendo essere utilizzate con qualsiasi evocatore.
Sono rimasto contento di vedere che ho già nella mia collezione 4 carte neutrali su 5 di livello massimo tra le top 5 carte indicate da Splinterguide:
- CHAOS AGENT
- VENATOR KINJO
- SCAVO HIRELING
- URAEUS
- XENITH MONK
Tra l'altro proprio due giorni fa ho fatto l'upgrade al massimo livello di Chaos Agent che è la carta che ha il rating maggiore tra le carte Chaos Legion dell'elemento neutrale: rating = 9.5
L'unica carte tra le top 5 che non ho al livello massimo è Scavo Hireling.
Nella mia collezione ho 121 BCX di Scavo Hireling e per l'upgrade al livello massimo dovrei acquistare 279 BCX.
Scavo Hireling è una carta che ha mantenuto abbastanza stabile il suo valore in un arco di tempo di 180 giorni a dimostrazione del fatto che è una carta molto utile in battaglia soprattutto se usata in combinazione con carte che hanno l'abilità Weapon Training e in combinazione con carte che hanno punti armatura.
Per acquistare 279 BCX di Scavo Hireling avrei spedo quasi il massimo costo per BCX presente sul mercato oggi: 0.177$ per BCX.
Per questo motivo ho deciso di acquistare immediatamente solo le carte in vendita ad un costo per BCX inferiore o uguale a 0.150$.
Per raggiungere il mio obiettivo di upgrade effettuerò offerte di acquisto BID tramite la funzionalità Make Bid di Peakmonsters.
Per quanto riguarda le carte Chaos Legion dell'elemento Dragone ho già nella mia collezione tutte le carte di livello massimo presenti nella lista di Splinterguide tranne Xyvax Vuul che è una carta che ho al livello 2 e non ho fatto l'upgrade ai livelli successivi perchè è una carta che non uso praticamente mai in battaglia e infatti anche per Splinterguide è una carta poco utile perchè ha un rating davvero basso: 2.5 su 10.
Nella top 5 dell'elemento Morte c'è solo una carta che non ho al livello massimo: Riftwing
Infatti nella mia collezione ho un totale di 131 BCX e uso in battaglia Riftwing di livello 6
In questo caso ho deciso di fare subito l'upgrade al livello massimo perchè ho trovato una conveniente offerta per 264 BCX a cui ho aggiunto altri 5 BCX.
Ho speso in totale 5.424$ = 5524.54 DEC - 132.58 DEC (cashback)
Anche per le carte dell'elemento Life sono stato felice di vedere che ho già nella mia collezione quasi tutte le carte al livello massimo che hanno anche il rating maggiore assegnato da Splinterguide.
L'unica carta nella top 5 di Splinterguide che non ho al livello massimo è Vulguine.
Fino ad ora non ho considerato Vulguine come mio obiettivo di upgrade perchè è una carta che non può attaccare dalle posizioni diverse dalla prima e perchè non potevo usare il livello massimo.
Vulguine ha un costo relativamente basso per BCX ed è una carta molto utile in battglie con specifiche rulesets come Super Sneak e Melee Mayeem e quindi ho deciso di fare l'upgrade al livello massimo.
Ho acquistato 94 BCX e ho speso 2.63$ e adesso ho anche Vulguine di livello massimo nella mia collezione.
Nella top 5 delle carte Chaos Legion dell'elemento Earth indicata da Splinterguide al primo posto c'è Queen Mycelia che è una delle carte dell'elemento Earth che uso di più ed è stata anche una delle prime carte del set Chaos Legion che ho portato al livello massimo diverso tempo fa.
Per quanto riguarda l'elemento Water ho tutte le carte nella top 8 di Splinterguide e quindi passo subito a vedere le carte dell'elemento Fuoco.
Per quanto riguarda l'elemento Fuoco ho 6 carte su 7 potenziate al massimo livello tra le carte che sono nella top 7 di Splinterguide.
Al primo posto c'è Countess Sinash che ha un punteggio di rating = 7.7
L'unica carta che non ho al massimo livello è Scavo Chemist ma in questo caso ho deciso di non fare l'upgrade al massimo livello perchè nella maggior parte delle battaglie preferirò Chaos Agent e Scavo Hireling che hanno un rating più alto.
Con gli upgrades che ho fatto oggi ho aumentato il numero di carte Chaos Legion di massimo livello nella mia collezione di carte e spero che queste carte mi saranno utili nella prossima stagione per raggiungere il mio obiettivo di breve termine su Splinterlands: tornare a giocare stabilmente dall'inizio alla fine delle stagioni nelle leghe Gold+ del Modern Format!
Adesso nella mia collezione Chaos Legion + Riftwatchers + Rebellion ho:
- 6 evocatori di massimo livello
- 20 carte leggendarie di massimo livello
- 7 carte epiche di massimo livello
- 29 carte rare di massimo livello
- 20 carte comuni di massimo livello
Nella mia collezione ho anche dei BCX singoli di carte Chaos Legion di cui ho già fatto l'upgrade al massimo livello. Venderò questi BCX per fare l'upgrade di altre carte che sono miei obiettivi di acquisto ma metterò in vendita queste carte solo dopo che inizierà il nuovo Ranked System perchè è in quel momento che potrebbe aumentare la loro richiesta sul mercato!
Oggi ho fatto dei passi in avanti nel miglioramento della forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte utilizzabile nel Modern Format e aspetterò con curiosità di vedere gli effetti che il nuovo Ranked System avrà sui miei risultati di gioco.
