The very short answer to this question is "Yes".
Now let me share some more info so you see for yourself if you need those extra bucks ;)
Few months ago I was looking for a mobile wallet that could handle both EOS and Telos. Why was that?
Initially, for two reasons:
Boid - I guess you all have heard about projects like SETI@home or World Community Grid - shared/grid computing utilizing free PC resources to solve real life tasks and issues our humanity faces. Boid is a gateway to these projects and it pays you a small reward based on the units you solve. Boid tokens could be staked or traded for EOS. I guess I should cover it more in a separate article?
Appics - Shortly said, in my opinion this is the mobile-only block-chain equivalent of the notorious Instagram. It encourages mainstream content. I was surprised they are still on STEEM as about a half year ago their ambassadors declared they are moving the dapp to Telos. This hasn't happen so far and has been postponed few times already. Their own token is called APX. Migration to Telos could happen at any time in 2021 so I had to be prepared.
After some research, I got to Wombat.
It is a nifty wallet that comes in three shapes - for Android, iOS and Desktop (as browser plugin). The developers of the wallet say it's the most user-friendly wallet and from my experience so far I actually tend to agree with them!
I was quite satisfied to find out it handles EOS, Telos, APX, Boid, etc.
Moreover, it isn't only a crypto wallet with connections to crypto exchanges, it has a wide range of other interconnected apps. DeFi, NFTs, free talk, music streaming, knowledge sharing, jobs, etc. I have even sold a digital art of mine on their pixEOS Art Gallery that is the equivalent of NFTShowroom here on HIVE.
As I love to play a game or few from time to time, just to empty my head, if you know what I mean, I decided to test their WomPlay addition.
WomPlay is a rewarding gateway to several games. For achieving different goals you get rewarded in WomBucks.
To "convert" your Wombucks into EOS the only thing you have to do is join a reward pool by pressing a single button. Once the countdown of the reward pools is over, you get automatically EOS tokens in your WomBat wallet. As simple as that. Let me just insert a big fat note here that there are lots of players already playing those games so don't expect to gain much. But hey, so far I haven't expected anything from playing free games!
It could get even better if you like testing new games as usually the minimum you have to do to get Wombucks is install the particular game via a link they provide, play for some time and reach some specific level. After that there is a daily limit of what you could earn by playing a specific game. A bit irritating is when you join the reward pool at the beginning to see each day how your share constantly drops as more and more people join that pool. It appears there are some very serious gamers!
The length and the amount of the reward pools is different every time. So far I've seen values between USD 3000 and 1500. Timeouts between 5 and 10 days. Check out my Wombucks stats for December 2020:
I have already uninstalled some of those games but the Wombucks stay and I'll most probably use the EOS I earned to boost my dCity account on HIVE by buying few more cards, LMAO :P
