Kenya's Citizen TV Kenya had fake profiles with verification stamp stating that Dr SK Macharia, chairman and founder of Royal Media Services, which owns the channel, had been declared dead.

In my humble opinion, Elon Musk comes with the idea of revolutionizing the platform but with a great inclination towards the financial aspect, the verification seal is a strong example. Although it is possible to see if such a seal is purchased, a lot of incorrect information can circulate from a "verified" account, we have to learn to filter and analyze each piece of news. I also see good changes for the platform but I still expect more from Elon Musk to make X a Super App, perhaps even aligned with WEB3 or Crypto.

A compra foi citada diversas vezes por Elon Musk como uma luta pela liberdade de expressão, mas alguém que é considerado o homem mais rico do mundo obviamente tem planos muito além disso, alinhados à valorização da marca e aos ganhos financeiros, além das revoluções que mencionou . próprio, "Comprar o Twitter é um acelerador para a criação do X, o aplicativo para tudo." No conflito do Sudão, a principal força paramilitar (RSF) teve seu selo de verificação retirado. A morte de seu líder, Mohamed Dagalo foi postada por uma suposta conta da RSF com selo de verificação, uma conta falsa. O post recebeu 1,7 milhão de visualizações em pouco tempo.
Citizen TV Kenya do Quênia teve perfis falsos com selo de verificação informando que o Dr. SK Macharia, presidente e fundador da Royal Media Services, proprietária do canal, tinha sido declarado morto.
Além do selo azul foram lançados também os selos Cinza (governos e políticos) e Dourado (contas comerciais e empresas) este que era usado anteriormente para celebridades e jornalistas.
Em minha humilde opinião Elon Musk chega com a ideia de revolucionar plataforma mas com grande inclinação para a parte financeira, o selo de verificação é um exemplo forte. Apesar de ser possível ver se tal selo é comprado, muita informação incorreta pode circular a partir de uma conta "verificada", temos que aprender a filtrar e analisar cada noticia. Vejo mudanças também boas para a plataforma mas ainda espero mais de Elon Musk pra tornar o X um Super App, inclusive quem sabe alinhado a WEB3 ou Cripto.
