Do those above sound like a string of four random words?
I mean them as a single cohesive unit. As in the damage my lust for trading is taking due to slow performance of the website of the exchange I use. And I wouldn't blame anyone about that. It was just not optimized for such levels of usage. I wonder what the actual levels are and how we could measure them or compare them to...say...a month or two ago...
When Time Stood Still On The Iron Hill...
No longer still but for the BTC-USD page itself which fails to load during 9 out of 10 attempts. And the slow or no reaction when I try to make an order real-time. I think conditional orders might be better.
Yes, I am talking about crucial technical difficulties. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am just experimenting with amounts of currency that would make no difference in general to my balance. Not yet, at least. Nothing I can't wave mentally at.
But here's what actually happens in terms of me being unable to carry out my decisions...
I try to sell at A;
When we are at B, I try to buy back only to discover that my order at the time of A did not go through and I am disconnected so nothing previously sold and no funds to buy again with;
I try to sell at C;
By the time the market loads, the price is about 300-400 USD lower than when I would have liked to act;
I sell at D anyway;
I manage to buy back at E;
I try selling at F but by the time it loads, the price is again 200-300 USD lower than my point of choice.
My fault that I am doing it manually, right?
Also, my fault that I am trying to play this game. As @chekohler often says, it's trying to pick pennies in front of a steamroller. (I respect what you say, man, I am just too hyped and I want to play with them Satoshis).
Now imagine playing that game with such lag. You're being splattered life after life upon the pavement.
So, there are three options:
I rage quit;
I quit after admitting it's not the game for me;
I remain stubborn and continue looking for a way to play it and do better vs the steamroller.
When it comes to games, I am usually the third kind.
Thank God I don't have the funds to feel sorry about losing ;)
Now, seriously. I could just close my eyes to the current price and buy as much as I can this month without selling any. We're speaking Satoshis, again.
Or I could learn to use conditional orders. I've seen my game being wrecked by conditional order hick-ups during the Hive ATH week.
Or I could just continue trading manually but more cautiously and keeping in mind the fatally slow reaction time of the service.
A service that is among the best out there and is still not able to keep up with what's currently happening.
And this is through my workstation. Imagine if I had to do this with my old smartphone — my whole battery would be down before I am able to load the whole trading page even once.
Obviously, none of this could be any kind of advice ;) Just sharing my thoughts and experience.
Peace!
