The problem
The main problem with Hive is that authors do not create content with a target audience outside the platform in mind. What they do is create content with expectations of maximizing their rewards. This is where the responsibility of curators comes in. The larger your stake the more responsibility you have to reward content that is maximally attractive to the most likely target audience of LeoFinance: Internet users looking for information about cryptocurrencies and investing in general.
The solution
Look at the stage at which the cryptocurrency market currently is. The Bitcoin mining reward halving was five months ago. Something akin to miner capitulation may already have been seen before that in the March crash. Bitcoin and the rest of the market seems to be firmly on an upward trajectory. What that means is that when the hype train really leaves the station there will be a lot of people googling up on what cryptocurrencies are about.
The way to answer to this emerging demand is put yourself in the shoes of those people and think about the questions they are likely to ask. Then write posts that answer those questions. Aim for high quality as in informativeness and readability.
Curators bear a large responsibility for getting this right. Do not reward shit posts or irrelevant content if you value your stake. Under 50/50 reward distribution with the flat curve you can take your time and properly evaluate the content in your feed or in the newly published content in general among which you may find gems from entirely new authors. Reward the most valuable content.
