Fortunately and by the grace of God they transferred the case to a doctor in the city of Caracas, so without further ado we set out to raise the money to travel and so we did, in recent days we arrived at the clinic in Caracas and was finally treated, in addition to multiple tests, they applied a decompression treatment of the spine to reduce inflammation and relieve pain, as I told you in the previous post we were waiting for the decision that the medical board would take in relation to the case of my husband.

After an anxious wait, we were called to Dr. Abbadi's office and we went very early, the truth on the one hand I was glad to finally know the state of the spine and what we should do, but on the other hand it filled me with fear and a little bewilderment, well the doctor explained that due to the time elapsed without being treated properly unfortunately the spinal injury was enlarged, and explained that the treatment they were putting him for the pain was not something definitive, but was a palliative while he was operated.

He was very sincere when he told us that the situation could have been attacked in time and the injury would not be so great, but that nothing more could be done to remedy it, rather than operate, he told us that we had a period of no more than two months to achieve the operation before the treatment for the pain takes effect, since as he explained it is something temporary, and we must get everything for Gilliatt to be able to operate.

The costs uff almost gave me a heart attack to me, the operation has a cost of $ 27,896.00 and the prosthesis $ 6600 so expensive is the operation, and I am honest, I never imagined it was so expensive, but we are talking about one of the best clinics in the country and especially the best neurosurgeon in Latin America, pioneer in a number of procedures in neurosurgery, is hard mission to get so much money, but give up for us is not an option, not after fighting so hard.

For this reason I undertook a goal to take the case before the government aid institutions to see if we can get them to cover all or part of the cost of the operation, also my family is organizing a lottery and raffles to collect, little by little the amount we need, is it a large amount? Yes, of course it is, but every little drop adds up, every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, is a contribution.

Cómo ya les expliqué en otro post lamentablemente en la ciudad de Cumaná Estado Sucre-Venezuela lugar donde vivimos ningún neurocirujano fue capaz de asumir el caso de mi esposo, dado su complejidad, en cambio nos tuvieron peloteados casi este año no solo sin tener un diagnóstico certero, sino que mantuvieron a mi esposo en una agonía constante, lo que lo mantuvo en múltiples de oportunidades recluido en el hospital producto del dolor tan fuerte.

Afortunadamente y por la gracia de Dios transfirieron el caso a un doctor en la ciudad de Caracas, así que sin más nos dispusimos a juntar el dinero para viajar y así lo hicimos, en días pasados llegamos a la clínica en Caracas y fue atendido por fin, además de múltiples exámenes, le aplicaron un tratamiento de descompresión de la columna para bajar la inflamación y aliviar el dolor, como ya les comenté en el post anterior estábamos a la espera de la decisión que tomaría la junta médica en relación al caso de mi esposo.

Luego de una espera angustiosa, fuimos llamados al consultorio del doctor Abbadi y acudimos bien temprano, la verdad por una parte me alegro saber por fin el estado de la columna y que debemos hacer Pero por otro lado me llenó de temor y un poco de desconcierto, pues bien el doctor nos explicó que debido al tiempo transcurrido sin ser atendido correctamente lamentablemente la lesión en la columna se agrandó, y nos explicó que el tratamiento que le estaban poniendo para el dolor no era algo definitivo, sino que era un paliativo mientras se operaba.

Nos fue muy sincero al decir que la situación pudo haberse atacado a tiempo y la lesión no serían tan grande Pero que ya no se podía hacer más nada para remediarlo, más que operar, nos habló de que teníamos un lapso no mayor a dos meses para lograr la operación antes de que el tratamiento para el dolor pase su efecto, ya que como nos explicó es algo temporal, y debemos conseguir todo para que Gilliatt se pueda operar.

Los costos uff casi me dan un infarto a mi, la operación tiene un costo de 27.896,00$ y la prótesis 6600$ así de costosa es la operación, y les soy sincera, jamás me imaginé que fuese tan caro, Pero estamos hablando de una de las mejores clínicas del país y sobretodo del mejor neurocirujano de Latinoamérica, pionero en una serie de procedimientos en materia de neurocirugía, es dura la misión de conseguir tanto dinero, pero rendirnos para nosotros no es una opción, no después de luchar tanto.

Por tal motivo emprendi una meta de llevar el caso antes las instituciones de ayuda del gobierno para ver si logramos que cubran el costo total o parcial de la operación, también mi familia está organizando una lotería y rifas para juntar, poco a poco la cantidad que necesitamos, ¿es una cantidad fuerte? Si claro que lo es Pero cada gotita suma, cada colaboración por pequeña que parezca es un aporte.

Demostremos que juntos somos más, demostremos que hive es una gran familia, que se une no solo en las buenas, sino también en las malas, te pido que el dia de hoy abras tu mente y tú corazón y me regales un pequeño gran aporte que sirva para disminuir la cantidad tan grande que debemos completar, desde el fondo de mi corazón se los agradezco, segura estoy que cada granito se les devolverá multiplicado en vida, salud y prosperidad, recuerden hoy por mi mañana por cualquiera de ustedes, gracias de antemano.
