The world is moving quite faster when it comes to technology and we are seeing new innovations every day. The recent AI tool produced by xAI known as Grok Imagine is something which is in the headline about which I am going to discuss in this blog. The AI tool is able to produce deepfake pornographic content of real people which is actually against the moral and ethical values.
It created unwanted photographs of Taylor Swift, and that is why I think it is a big concern on ethical, legal, and moderation of how AI tools are being created and used by people.
Basically, the app has some options where you can choose from normal, fun, custom, and spicy content that you want to create using the Grok Imagine, and the option that says spicy can actually generate sexually explicit content as well.
Though xAI's terms prohibit using the AI tool for creating such type of content of real people, still we found that there were so many videos and photographs that were created using different prompts, which were uncomfortable for anyone who was a victim of it.
The thing was not too in the headlines until Taylor Swift incident took place where Taylor Swift deepfake was seen doing something unwanted and that is when the spicy option on the app was removed but we never know so it will be back someday again.
There are other AI tools as well working in the industry on something similar like OpenAI Sora and Google's Veo, but there the filter is being applied that prohibit the adult content of celebrity or any other person to be created. But at Grok, we saw that it was possible, it was somehow bypassed and maybe Elon Musk will fix it.
Things can get worse and people can actually use these tools as one of the means for digital violence and I think that should be avoided and it is not something very difficult to do because the people developing the tools can take care of how they can make sure that people will not be able to use these AI tools in such a wrong way.
To prevent this, I think people who develop these tools have to keep moral responsibility and see how things can affect the life of a person if the tools are used in the wrong manner. Imagine how hard it must be for a person psychologically to go through something like that where they get to know that their nude content was seen online which was not actually them but the AI doing it.
I am not only saying that it is the responsibility of developers to keep in mind about the moral and ethical values, but also the people who are using the tool because if they will keep themselves in the place of the victim, maybe they will stop doing it.
So if you are using an AI tool, make sure you do not use it for bad things. Use it for good things. There can be countless number of useful videos and photographs you can create that will help the world, but creating something like that is unacceptable and you should never do it, even if an AI tool allows you.
I do not know if xAIs latest developed tool Grok Imagine will be the reason for the company to go through some legal complications but I think that can happen for sure. Maybe we will get an update on that in near future.
AI tools are beneficial for the world. They are helping us in many ways. But I think that with these AI tools comes human responsibilities as well, which we should not forget, which we should always carry in us, and never ever do something like what we have just discussed in the blog today.
The bypass is always possible. I know even after the efforts of the developers, people will come with ways to bypass the restrictions. But still, at the end, we have to try. Being a developer, it is important for you to think of all the possible outcomes that will come with your product.
So my final words are that we should see some regulations on these types of things. There should be punishment for people who are using these tools in this way. Maybe a fine or something like that will actually prevent people from doing this. So maybe laws are important.
You do not have to be famous like Taylor Swift to understand how hard it might be for her to see such type of content. Even a normal person can go through this. If the tool can create such type of content for a celebrity, it can do so for a normal person. And for a normal person, it can be even more difficult because the celebrities get massive support from their fans, unlike a common man or unlike a common person who do not have fans and who have to go through all of this alone.
