Sharing with you a presentation I made in one of my classes in grad school.
Were you promised something?
Did you hold on to that promise?
Is web3 equals to web1 + web? Not quite. Web3 is way far amazing!
The differences simply put.
Some people are unto web3 without them knowing it. An example I used is the Brave Browser (Brave is strongly associated with Web3 due to its support for decentralized technologies such as cryptocurrencies and decentralized applications (DApps). It is strongly associated with Web3 due to its support for decentralized technologies such as cryptocurrencies and DApps.)
AI (Artificial Intelligence) is not inherently part of Web3 technologies, but it can be integrated and used in Web3 applications and services.
Blockchain explained in simple terms
Yeah, why web3?
Why not?
FUD is an acronym that stands for "Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt." It is a term that is often used in the context of cryptocurrency and blockchain, including Web3 technologies. FUD is typically used to describe the spread of negative, misleading, or false information that causes fear, uncertainty, and doubt among investors or users.
FUD can have a significant impact on the Web3 ecosystem, as it can lead to decreased confidence in cryptocurrencies, decentralized applications (DApps), and other Web3 technologies. This can result in decreased adoption and investment, which can ultimately harm the growth and development of the Web3 ecosystem.
Our class is Theory of Planned Change. In this class, our professor is inviting us to look at the concepts, aspects, factors, and the like in organizational changes.
Behavioral patterns observed in an organizational change. Early adapters are people from Vietnam and the Philippines. This also reminds me of the "Flappy Bird" during the early years of android games.
I presented this to class last March 17, 2023. Also the 502nd anniversary of Spaniards arriving in the Philippines. I made the arrival of Magellan as an analogy. Humabon and his people were the early on-boarders while Lapu-Lapu and the people of Mactan were the rejectors (I do not consider Lapu-Lapu as the villain though).
Will you still hope? I am referring to the promises of the web3 despite the FUD and the recent blackswans.
My take...
Most of the time, people shun new and promising innovations especially when it involves money. There had been many deceptive schemes that lured even shrewd investors to the promises of instant wealth. It is not a surprise at all that people are wary of web3. This is also what the author is pointing out. He advances 3 of the 4 distinct blockchain applications and cautions the reader on the application that involves money. As one of my interest topics for research, I see the use of web3 as a catalyst for change at (name of my educational institution). I have already seen the impact of Web 2 on education. Now I am eagerly looking forward to the exponential growth that Web 3 has to offer not just in education but in the quality of life.
