Graphics cards shortages due to mining leads NVIDIA to tackle crypto mining
High end gamers will most likely be the biggest losers

NVIDIA tackles graphics shortfalls due to miners
Popular graphics processor units (GPUs) manufacturer NVIDIA have made a move that will cause frustration in the community by tackling GPU shortages. Due to crypto mining NVIDIA GPUs have been experiencing shortages across the world.
The company has made the decision to lower computing power to popular ranges of GPUs often mass purchased by crypto miners.
The NVIDIA GPU RTX 3060 is the most current popular purchase amongst crypto miners and gamers alike. The reduced computing power may have effects on pro-gamers looking for powerful machinery. NVIDIA has stated that the GPUs will be tailored to meet the needs of pro-gamers.
A growing market of crypto mininers has also led the team to develop the world's first processor designed to mine Ethereum.
The mining card will feature more power and better air flow by removing display outputs allowing increased voltage to be used for mining.
There will be a range of what is being called CMP (Crypto Mining Processors) with different outputs and hashing power to provide affordable entry level processors and more advanced CMPs for bigger operations.
Ease of access is being employed to allow better control of multiple CMPs by one GPU and is optimised to maximise computing power to get the largest Hash rate available.

This is the first time we have seen a company move to supply mining specific equipment, the move forced by the market.
What flow on effects will mining have in years to come when Hash rates are easily achieved and a tiered level of mining equipment in the sector.
Personal opinion as the move may come a little late as many block chains are now moving to PoS rather than PoW. But the CMPs impact on Bitcoin and older versions of cryptocurrancy is yet to be seen.
