I have been a fan and student of cryto since 2016. Mostly I invested in BTC and tried to learn about the different altcoins and their uses. I became a fan of the steem community early on because I felt like much of the goals and intentions of the community appeared to be organic in the spirit of what I wanted to see the crypto movement representing. All this being said, I wasn't personally ambitious in blogging or content creation, and I never felt like It was the place for me, but I was happy to see the community functioning and I admired the spirit of many of the members.
Then fast forward to the questionable way that Justin Sun took control of the project and my heart went out to the community, and it was at this time I decided to support the original steem community snd I made my first investment into Hive coin.
I have since tried to find dapps and uses which might fit my interests and I began by downloading the mobile ios app and tried to find a dapp which I could use so that I could support the community and project.
So, here I am making my first written post ever, and Im asking for help. Id like to be guided towards a use that I may enjoy without having to be socially active myself.
So, I have a few coins Id like to invest or loan that will give me some returns. As far as I understand this is s somewhat “proof of stake” platform, but I cant seem to figure out where to just stake my coins simply. I understand there is a way to basically loan my coins to give up my voting rights to other individuals, and I dont like this Idea. Im not a fan of centralization of any kind and I am a little disappointed to see the imbalance power some individuals have over the majority, and I fear giving my votes away to a cause that can further imbalance and centralize power any further. Is there a way to simply stake my coins to help the network and just receive rewards in a traditional pos way? If so, how may I do this? How can I earn a return for staking coins and not give up voting rights to do so? Is it possible? I will just take my votes and contribute myself this way, but ultimately Id like to help the network and get an roi without selling out.
Forgive me if my lack of education is a nuisance, id just like to support a cause I can get behind without being forced to give away voting rights to people who may not have the networks best interest in mind..
Did I come to the correct place? If no can someone help guide me in the right direction to obtain some of the education I may need to begin understanding my options and this network and economic model.
Thanks for any help I may recieve. 🙏🏼
