Ethererum may not have been as popular as Bitcoin in the past, but it has recorded a fantastic year of over 200% gains!:
It has a lower market cap than bitcoin, but the there could be a crossover at some point:
With the lower recognition and lower market cap, that could mean it has more growth potential than bitcoin. This is not to mention many DeFI projects built on top of Ethereum which could cause money inflows. Also to come is Ethereum 2.0.
In case you are a newbie like me, you might ask, what is Ethereum?
According to Ethereum.org, Ethereum is the community-run technology powering the cryptocurrency ether (ETH) and thousands of decentralized applications.
But what does that really mean. I think that ETH is a store of value where people save their money in ETH. It can also be consumed and used for gas. (Gas is the fuel that allows ETH to operate) And it is also an asset that you can use for staking.
ETH reached its all time high of $4812 on 11th August 2021. Therefore the current price of $3276 could be a good entry point.
