The decision to exit Bitcoin now wasn’t driven by a lack of belief in its future. On the contrary—I still believe in the long-term promise of crypto and decentralized systems. But the landscape has changed. As Bitcoin becomes increasingly correlated with traditional markets, it no longer functions as the same asymmetric hedge it once was. That realization pushed me to rethink my overall positioning.
And to be honest, if I didn’t make this move now, I knew I might lose the window if macro winds shifted abruptly. In uncertain times, liquidity becomes power, and diversification becomes survival.
My future isn’t about sitting on the sidelines. It’s about reallocating, not retreating.
I’m positioning myself for entrepreneurial pursuits—the kind that demand capital flexibility and a clear head. That means spreading risk, staying nimble, and having the dry powder to jump on opportunities as they appear. Selling Bitcoin now opens that door.
Still, I won’t sugarcoat it: the emotional side of me already feels a twinge of regret. There’s a part of every long-time crypto participant that believes the next big run could always be right around the corner. Maybe I caught the short-term top. Maybe not. Either way, I’ll be watching closely for the next meaningful dip, and when the moment feels right, I’ll start a new position.
Because while I’ve sold for now, I haven’t walked away for good.
