Recently in my LEO Feed, I saw the post "Monetizing Content - The First Time I Made Money Online!" and although the post the author first referenced was asking about the first time the person earned any money at all, this author used the idea of money made online only for their post. I decided to go one step further and talk about the first time I made any money on the blockchain for this post, just to take the idea one step further.
So What Got Me Here?
When I first got involved with Steemit, it was from a YouTube video with some ridiculous title like "How I made $1200 in five minutes!" I watched the video, then did some research, and quickly saw what Steemit was and the very basics of how it worked. I liked the idea and decided to get an account. After I think a week for the verification process, I was able to create my first post. I studied the markup language and thought about my topic...
Four Score and...Nevermind...
Four years ago, and I know this because the blockchain told me so, I published my first post on Steemit. It was titled "Things I learned from Heroin.....Part 1" and believe it or not, with that title, I only earned 0.69 Steem Dollars from it. One thing that changed my relationship with the Steemit platform, however, took place in the comments of that post. I do not quite remember the mechanics of how it happened, but in the comments, you will see where I was introduced to the "Minnow Support Project," and the "Peace Abundance and Liberty" network. I think I had to "donate" a set amount, and then I was a member or something like that...
Today...
Now, I am still in the PAL Server on Discord, and I still know a lot of the people that are involved there. Coming back to "blogging," or to me, just writing, is not only therapeutic, but it is also almost like a "homecoming" in some ways. After the fork between Tron and HIVE, it is kind of cool to be able to talk to some of the people involved and get the "real person" perspective in some ways, of what happened.
I Know This...
I tried out both ecosystems, and to be one hundred percent honest, and as unbiased as I can be, the only thing I have done with Tron was to stake a few tokens I had from the fork and then leave them. On the other hand, on HIVE, I have been active, even going so far as to get involved with one of the games here...
I wonder if my barley is ready yet, I better go log into CryptoBrewMaster and see if my daily task is done...
