German massacre
The results of the German car manufacturers, BMW, Mercedes and Audi are in for the first quarter of 2025. And the good news is, BMW only lost 29 % profits compared to last year. Audi and Mercedes did even worse!
BMW lost 8 % in revenue, and lost profit for the third year in a row. The German car industry is having a very bad time. And it has multiple reasons, first of all, the obligatory electrification of the car market Europe created an overly expensive car market for a society that is plagued by inflation and high interest rates, and therefore a demand issue.
Together with a flood of cheap cars from China and Korea, the problem is bigger than expected.
On top of that the tariffs from the USA will slash profits even more!
The future will be very rough for the German automotive industry!
