I few years ago... Fuck time flies, time to order that coffin.
I watched this one series on youtube called Content Cop and he covered this one dude called RiceCum but the point is that is when I was exposed to this idea of Supreme clothing, people standing inline for some version of an Iphone and renting expensive cars so they can pretend to have expensive cars.
People are fucking weird.
Why does that matter?
Because that is the Ethereum network, and EOS and whichever other crypto networks still think having fees based on traffic or similar pathetic metrics is a nifty idea. Sure it makes sense.
It actually does not make fucking sense. It is not like your miner who is getting paid very nicely uses more bloody electricity. Ethereum has always just been a moneygrab but it is the Supreme or Iphone of the industry.
Currently, I have some ERC720 tokens and it actually pisses me off. Because a major amount of them are actually in a normal wallet. When it comes to ETH and these kinds of tokens it really does not benefit a person to keep them in a wallet unless you are holding.
For me at least it is not so much about holding them, these tokens are temporary and being able to actually gain a few cents off of them is the difference of already having them on the exchange or you will lose.
Things like Uniswap don't really change anything. They only added to the problem and could have built a dex system and defi protocol like that on a chain which has better speed, better costs and more than likely taken away a ton of power from ETH.
Hopefully in the future with ETH 2.0 but even though ETH2.0 is releasing, these projects should still seriously consider whether it a chain worth pushing the public towards.
We are still, even now, in the early days of crypto and the landscape will always change but just using something because it is popular is not the right mentality for building future proof products.
Eth 2.0 is a band-aid, a welcome addition and the system may be pretty damn great but the disregard for usability in those circles is almost as bad as the walking skin trashbags which is government.
Sooo...Obviously, I will still use Eth when required but I will be sure to keep the tokens I can get on an exchange. Things like WLEO is fine because those make no sense to sell.
Then hopefully we can get Hive to be on one of these crossplatform wallets like CCTip and provide liquidity which allows a person a simple deposit and withdraw route.
