So a tweet went out yesterday that said the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is approving the us of public blockchains using stablecoins can be used in the US banking system for settlelment.
**So what are Stablecoins? **
Developed between 2018-2019 so called stablecoins are pegged to the USD meaning 1 Coint = 1 USD.
Some of the more well known names are Tether, DAI, USDC & PAX.
HBD
HBD is not currently pegged to USD, but imagine a future where it was?
You could easily trade your HIVE for HBD on the marketplace right here on the blockchain and then use your HBD for US banking transactions (deposit/transfer/etc)
I don't know what it takes to get accepted as a PEG token but this would be amazing!!!
US BANKING
Now we don't know if each bank will pick a different stablecoin but if only 1 coin is picked it will increase the volume/liquidity of that token.
Maybe we can just get a good HBD/(coin) trading pair with whatever stablecoin is picked.
Regardless this is a very very exciting announcement.
