As you all know today is the Hive Power Up Day. I've only been on Hive for about two weeks and I randomly found out a couple of days ago that HivePUD was a thing. I knew right away that I had to participate in this and get myself a new and shiny badge.
I started out the day with 224HP. After powering up for 117 Hive I'm now sitting on 341HP. That's a 52% increase which I'm quite happy about.
Powering up is a good feeling. I felt it when first making my account, I've felt it during my lesser power ups and I felt it now.
Summarizing my first two weeks on Hive
I thought it take the opportunity to summarize my first two weeks here on Hive. The tl;dr: I love it.
I have to admit that when I first joined I was just looking for a quick buck. "This place pays you to post stuff? Easy money.". I guess that was my hook. I quickly found out that's not how this works. Even though my initial motivation in joining Hive was the quick buck and even though I was quickly and thoroughly disappointed there was something about this place that got me curious.
So I started researching. I started reading FAQ's, I watched videos on what Hive was all about. I took a deep dive and the deeper I delved the more I started liking it. I got that feeling I got the first time I finally and fully understood what Bitcoin and blockchain in general was all about. I decided I wanted to be a part of this place.
Luckily I met @daltono quite early on and he gave me some pointers. Shortly after I decided to do my first power up and write my introduction post.
Since then I feel like I haven't looked back for a second. Every day I enjoy reading the high quality content that's being churned out. Every day I think about and plan what my next posts should be about. It's fun to browse content and curate, even though my VP is currently as low as 0.003, to find those gems. It's extremely fun to post my own content to see likes and rewards ticking in.
I've been mostly engaged in the Hive Gaming Community in these early days of my Hive career. Gaming is something I enjoy a lot and I like to appreciate it beyond just playing the games by writing and sharing my experiences about them. In between my gaming posts I dabble in a few other communities as well. I'll be branching out even more as time goes by.
One community I haven't really dabbled in is this community; LeoFinance. While I am interested in crypto and finance I'm more of a reader when it comes down to it. I like to understand and know what's going on in the world of crypto and finance but it stops there. I wouldn't be able to produce quality and original content and in that case I'd rather not. I'll stick to what I'm good at. Perhaps in the future.
That's it for now. My participation on #HivePUD and a quick look at my first 14 days on Hive. I'm looking forward to growing Hive into something bigger than it already is alongside all of you. If you haven't already you should power up to! It's a good feeling.
