When I noticed the HBD savings in 2021 when I newly joined Hive, I didn’t really see any importance to it because the APR was about 10% if I can remember. I thought it was too small and wasn’t worth my time. But then I was wrong, I dint realise how wrong I was until when the APR was increased to 20%, that sounded like one of the greatest opportunities I have seen. This was after Luna UST increased its APR to 20% which was what inspired Hive’s HBD savings increase. When HBD savings APR was increased to 20%, we all thought that it wouldn’t last, we thought LUNA’s UST would last longer than HBD savings. The Luna UST savings had a mechanism that enticed a lot of people into trusting them and investing in them. I am glad HBD savings APR increased because I was closed to investing in UST savings because of the 20% APR.
Unfortunately for Luna’s UST, it crashed and a lot of people lost their money, but here we are with HBD savings still here, still giving us the 20% APR but guess what? Some people dont believe it because they think its impossible for HBD savings to give out 20% APR and a big chunk of people dont know about it. I feel so lucky and fortunate to know about the Hive HBD savings because it helps increase the value of my investment by 20% and also is decentralised. Everything is working with the blockchain smart contract, you dont have to worry about loss of liquidity like what happened with FTX customers and other centralised crypto exchange customers. Its one of the easiest and most passive ways to earn money. All you need to do is lock your HBD in the HBD savings and watch your HBD accumulate.
I think the reason the HBD savings has this high APR is because the supply of HBD is very low compared to other stable coins, other StableCoins have a supply of over hundred and hundreds of millions even billions, but HBD savings is not even up to 50 million in supply. I believe there will come a time where the APR will reduce to help control the supply and inflation. Right HBD savings is the only on safe investment I know, its not as volatile as other coins its value is pegged to that of a dollar and I feel really glad fulfilled when I lock some HBD in there.
