I've been cross posting the odd post to Blurt every now and then just as an experiment to see how much I can earn, and it turns out, to my surprise, that some of my latest cross posts have done O.K.
I haven't bothered to name the posts below but you can easily match the rewards up with the posts on my blurt blog.
Here's a spread sheet of the returns with blurt at $0.02
The most impressive return is the running post, due to an upvote from 'blurt sports' which accounts for 90% of the value, which I assume I got because I used the 'blurtspots' tag.
Actually while blurt is at $.02 it makes it very easy to work out your return on the post - it's basically just the actual value displayed in pennies, so $3.31 for my running post, just for copying the text in my Hive editor, opening up blurt, pasting it, doing the tags and title an then 'go'.
What's the hourly return on that? About $3 for 2 minutes work - that's like $100 an hour.
It's not quite as lucrative shit posting, but it's still worth it... I've noticed similar large votes for some shit posts of photos I've done and using the tag blurtography'.
So that's $1.31 for my photo of a slug, or rather an enormous slug, in fairness it was pretty enormous.
OK that took more effort as this was a Blurt exclusive... take the photo, upload it, put in a little comment, so that's nearer 5 minutes, so here we're down at the $15 an hour mark, but I'd still rather be doing this than flipping burgers (of course I could flip and blurtflip about it I guess).
And when Blurt goes to $1, well that's like $5000 an hour and $750 an hour respectively, not bad for a little bit of extra effort!
And it probably benefits Hive and Leo too
Certainly with LEO you automatically post a back link back to the original on the leofinance platform, because it's included if you just copy and past all the text, so that should help drive traffic!
Although it might be worth waiting a while before copying your posts, to make it easier for Google to understand where they were published first and so give the SEO penalty to blurt not leo.
Blurt key tip from this total non expert on blurt
Keep the post just above shit post level and make sure you use one of the (completely SEO ineffective) blurt tags - such as 'blurtography' -that guarantees the curators will find you, unlike anyone whose never heard of blurt because who the hell ever searches for 'blurtography'?
What you do with your earned blurt is of course up to you - personally I'm clinging on to mine, it's a crazy world, it'll probably go to $0.10 at least at some point.
Right, enough of this, time to go cut and paste something from last week and stick it on blurt with one of those SEO impotent blurt tags!
