Hey everyone,
I wanted to write a post because I have once again decided to try something new in life. While I was away in Romania, I found myself often telling stories and engaging people with different things that have happened in my life that have been pretty funny. A few different people told me that I should pursue standup comedy, and I was actually very happy to hear this because that is something that I have always wanted to try.
Though I won't be dropping the idea of law school, I do think that it could be a great hobby to do some open mic nights in the city and tell some jokes and stories for a crowd.
As I do with most of my interests, I thought about how I could get blockchain involved; more specifically Hive. I began looking around for a community on PeakD where I could share jokes and stories, but found only very niche communities for things like crypto-specific memes. I figured I would take matters into my own hands and now there is officially a new community on PeakD:
Com3dy Central
I figured this would be a nice play on words of the Comedy Central that we all know on TV. This will be a space for standups, jokes, stories, memes and anything else that is comedy related for Hive users to engage with. I decided not to go through the process of creating a front end or a token for the community, because of the success I've seen from communities like God's Unchained and Axie Infinity on PeakD.
I will be seeking to not only share stories, but run contests that are XFactor style where the community will pick winners of comedy competitions and winners can either be awarded liquid Hive, huge delegations or heavily weighted upvotes for their content.
We all need to smile more and I figured that a community like this could be an excellent way to lighten things up for many in our community. I will be working on my first post for the community when I get home from work today and am seeking anyone with great ideas or a passion for comedy to reach out to me and get involved!
I am also seeking the help of some whales to bring some users over to the platform. If you're interested in helping a community like this grow, reach out to me anywhere!
