Of course, it is very important to have powerful cards and attack the targets powerfully in the Splinterlands, but these are of no importance if you cannot hit the target, so defending powefully is much more important than all of them. If you can defend powerfully, you can beat even the strongest teams, so I attach great importance to defense in battles.
I can say that monsters with high speed and Flying Ability, especially Runic Skyclaw, are very good at defense. That's why I don't hesitate to use them, especially Runic Skyclaw, in some battles.
Let's examine this in 2 battles.
- Super Sneak: All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability.
- Target Practice: All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
- Explosive Weaponry: All Monsters have the Blast ability.
Sneak Ability : Targets the last unit on the enemy Team instead of the first unit.
Snipe Ability : Targets enemy units with ranged, magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.
Blast Ability : Does additional damage to units adjacent to the target monster.
Considering the ruleset of the battle, to defend powerfully in this battle, I put Diemonshark in the last position against Sneak Monsters and Djinn Oshannus in the second position against Snipe Monsters. I knew that both of them would defend powerfully against the enemies in this battle. - Lost Magic: Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles.
- Explosive Weaponry: All Monsters have the Blast ability.
- Equalizer: The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.
Blast Ability : Does additional damage to units adjacent to the target monster.
I can say that Runic Skyclaw is my favorite in defense, it can really defend perfectly, especially against Melee and Ranged attack monsters. I wanted to put Runic Skyclaw in the last position in this battle to have a powerful defense, especially against Sneak Monsters, and it really did a great job in this battle. I recommend you watch this very tough and very interesting battle from the Battle Link, and you can see the benefit of having a powerful defense in battles.
Both battles clearly show how beneficial it is to defend powerfully in battles. Although the opponents were quite powerful, they were not very effective because they could not hit their targets, which allowed me to win the battles quite easily.
