Some background about Gifts / Rewards
- I've been using different methods to motivate community members on Hive.
- With this post, I want to inform community admins / mods about new gift distribution method.

Phase 7 - PLANNED PHASE
Different phases
- Followings are different phases of showing support to Hive Community Members.
- I have been distributing Ecency points for very long
- It's been over a year now.
- Those who don't know, here is the link when I started.

- I started with gifting 750 Ecency points & gifting as high as 1500 Ecency points.
- With each phase, I introduce a change in the method of distribution of Gifts.
- I believe, Now, It is time to switch to HivePower
Phase 1
- I used to select specific posts
- On those selected posts, I used to boost with Ecency Points
Phase 2
- I took help from active an curator @bhattg
- He is assisting me from that time to find posts to curate & reward
- I started contacting community mods but I did not get reply initially
Phase 3
- After several attempts, I finally started received replies from community mods.
- I co-ordinated with community mods about Ecency Points distribution.
- I discussed with other community members like @melinda010100, @pravesh0, @alokkumar121, @balvinder294 for feedback on this method.
Phase 4
- I started distributing to different contest winners on different communities
- For manually distributing points, I built a basic discord-bot command
- I took help from @bhattg again to distribute points using that discord bot.
Phase 5
- I was distributing Ecency points to the authors picked by Community moderators
- For these, I've built a bot based on hive-notifications.
- My bot reads all the notifications.
- It filters the mentions - notifications
- If it's having a valid points distribution comment from selected community mods, bot will gift the the points to the author picked by community moderator.
Phase 6 - CURRENT PHASE
- I am distributing Ecency Points, as well as, Hive Power Up to community members.
- With this, each community admin can decide what to reward.
- E.g. @alive.chat is using Hive Power as rewards distribution.
- E.g. @nelinoeva & @melinda010100 are using Ecency points as rewards.

How did I come up with number - 186 HP per month?
- I am supporting approximately 31 communities
- I've budget of 6 Hive Power per community per month.
- Believe me, it's not limited to just 6 HP, I have my upvotes also set to each of the community.
- I've been following curation trails of each community.
- I've also asked many hive members to follow my curation trail.
- I'll let community moderators decide how they want to distribute
- It can be on daily basis (not exceeding 0.2 HP per day)
- It can be on weekly basis (not exceeding 1.4 HP per week)
- It can be on monthly basis (not exceeding 6 HP per month)

- On top of distributing points, I also follow curation trails of all of these communities
- To extend even more support - to some of the communities, I've also delegated some HP
- I will also update My Comments to accept beneficiaries
- and set above listed communities as beneficiaries on those comments
You may ask - WHY?
- Growth of Hive is only possible - TOGETHER
- I want more & more people to join Hive.
- Joining is first step - next step is to keep Hive Members motivated to keep contributing, stay invested, stay engaged.
- With my own set of ideas, I came up with these approaches to motivate community members & help communities grow.
Message to community Mods
Dear community mods,
- Eagerly waiting for your reply. Please reply.
- I request Community moderators to use the advantage given. Please use this commands to motivate community members.
- Instead of @bhattg, I recommend community mods to use the commands given to reduce the burden on @bhattg.
- Please use it to motivate the content creators.
- Please update announcements of weekly contents & change it to Hive-Power instead of Ecency Points.
- All existing selected community mods (listed above) can distribute Hive Power from my account.
- Help me connect with other community moderators whom you trust. I'll be happy to extend my support to even more communities.
- To support your community members, all you would have to do is, add a comment on the author's post (whom you want to reward) and in that comment mention
