A Solana Success Story
There’s no doubt, the Grass airdrop was one of the highlights of 2024! Anyone who mined Grass Points throughout Stage 1 was handsomely rewarded with a healthy allocation of GRASS tokens in the final quarter of 2024. Many participants received thousands of dollars in GRASS tokens for simply running a browser extension. Unlike many other airdrops, the price of the GRASS token continued to appreciate after the airdrop event.
For a token to appreciate once the airdrop has concluded is highly improbable, and generally not within the realm of expectation. Even the leading DEX on Solana, Jupiter, experienced a heavy correction regarding its JUP token post the airdrop. GRASS’s final pre-market price on Whale’s Market, a pre-market speculative trading platform, before the airdrop and the token going live on Jupiter was $0.69.
GRASS continued to trend higher for weeks and eventually peaked in November at a record high of $3.89. That’s an enormous rise from its listing price of $0.69. For the most part, GRASS has been trading within a range of $1.50 to $3.00 for much of 2025. This is still significantly higher than its listing price. Healthy staking rewards have also had a hand to play in the healthy price action of GRASS, ever since it launched.
The current APR is 34%, and a total of 35 million GRASS tokens are locked in the staking protocol. The unstaking period is 7 days and must be manually transferred to your Solana wallet once the tokens become available. Roughly a quarter of the total supply is in circulation, providing sufficient muscle and time for future airdrops and staking rewards.
Read Between The Lines
Several key indicators suggest the imminent arrival of the next round of the GRASS airdrop. Firstly, we are currently in Stage 2, and it appears to be nearing its conclusion. Stage 1 drew to a close with the Bonus Epoch. Including the Closed Alpha Epoch, this would have been the equivalent of Epoch 9. We are currently in Stage 2, specifically on Epoch 9. If Stage 2 follows the timeframe of Stage 1, Epoch 9 will mark the closure of Stage 2.
Another interesting observation is the sudden price plunge of GRASS over the past weeks. Within a matter of days, GRASS dropped from $2.30 to a little below a dollar. Considering that GRASS has been relatively stable throughout its trading history, this suggests that whales are offloading their holdings in anticipation of an impending airdrop. It would be unwise to consider that the second round of the airdrop will follow the trajectory of the initial airdrop.
The final half of 2025 also marks the final stages of a typical bull market, if we are to go by past performance. Projects will be looking to airdrop their tokens amidst a surging market. We are likely to experience a sudden and explosive move within the DePIN sector, as well as other airdrops.

Final Thoughts
The initial round of the GRASS airdrop was incredibly viable, considering the effort required. Setting up an account and downloading the browser extension took just a few minutes, but it resulted in hundreds of dollars in passive income. I have no idea regarding the size of the second allocation. However, I have managed to mine double the amount of points as I did in the initial round. This will help to offset a larger user base, and possibly, a smaller airdrop allocation.
Not all airdrops are always viable. However, GRASS has produced the goods before, and I expect a reasonably decent airdrop this time around as well.
