Introduction
I've been threading every day on Leofinance for a month now. I got to know this platform and community through the Zealy competition. I've actually started participating in their LPUD as well; my first LEO power up was actually this month of May. I also did write some articles on Finance & Cryptocurrency in the Leofinance community which I never thought I would be able to. Anyways I just want to share some of my thoughts and experiences on threading.
What I Like About Threads
Threads is basically like a web3 version of Twitter. It allows us to do microblogging and write short interesting, meaningful and engaging content. One of the main benefits is everything is saved to the blockchain so you know your content is safe and your account couldn't get ban and content deleted like it would in Twitter. In addition to that, threads is free from bots as far as I know and I hope it stays that way because in Twitter, there are random bots trying to scam etc. Another aspect that makes threads superior over Twitter is the monetization. We can actually make some earnings in LEO tokens for our threads if people upvote our threads.
I think threads is a great change up from the typical long form posts on Hive blogs. Sometimes I feel lazy to read a whole long form post and engage by giving some comments on these posts. Threads gives me a way to engage with others and make new friends with these short threads. I can have a conversation with someone back and forth with a topic that came from a 1-3 sentence thread. I find that amazing and there's a lot of people that can spread information and share things. You might be able to learn a lot of new things, know more about upcoming news and be able to stay in touch with what's happening.
If you're curious about what threads looks like you can take a look at the picture below which I screenshotted from my laptop. You can see that the UI is pretty similar to twitter with Navigation on the left, content in the middle and trending tags on the right with our profile on the bottom left. I don't think it would be too difficult for someone that uses twitter actively to get adjusted to threads and that's probably why threads was designed like this.
As you can see, this is still early and there's plenty of things that can be added on. I heard they were also going to include gamification which will give us levels for achieving a certain thread count or something. They will also be having NFTs for threading which will give some special perks on the threading platform like maybe highlighting your thread in a gold color. Honestly, there's endless possibilities and that is the beauty of the Leofinance team. They are quite ambitious and they are a team that will really deliver on the feedback given and I have witnessed that first hand with some small things like rethreading feature and moving the x button to the right on the pop up when replying to a thread.
Concluding Thoughts
To be honest, I came to threads at first to have a shot at that 10k prize pool and hive power delegation from the Zealy comeptition but it became more than that. I can see the potential threads has to offer. There is no doubt that this platform will be better than Twitter in the coming months or years; it's still in beta so there's still a lot of room for improvement. I truly believe it's a great place to get to know new people and build a stronger following on Hive.
As someone I know likes to say, your network is your net worth. Basically, the value of our network and the more people we know will lead us to having more opportunities and an increase in our own wealth. I've already made some new friends through threads and I hope to make more! This is the power of engaging and it's really something that must be done if you want to do well on this platform. Threads is one of the easiest and quickest ways to engage with others. Don't miss out on the ride because threads is still early. The more people that join, the more fun it will be as they say the more, the merrier.
Thank You
Anyways that's all from me! Thank you for taking your time to read and I hope I got you interested in starting your threading journey.
