The Morgan Dollar, which was created by Mint Chief Engraver George T. Morgan (1845–1925), was produced from 1878 through 1904 and once more in 1921.
The late 19th-century industrial growth and westward migration of the nation were symbolized by this iconic silver dollar.
The new Morgan Dollar, which was produced by combining cutting-edge technology with historic U.S. Mint assets, has a stunning uncirculated polish.
Liberty is seen in profile on the obverse (heads side). She is surrounded by 13 stars, "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the year of issuance, and has a cap, flowers, and crown with the word "LIBERTY" inscribed on it. A wreath and an extended eagle holding arrows and an olive branch are shown on the reverse (tails) of the coin.
The Morgan 9th-century version of the heraldic eagle was one of the few of the era on American coins to lack the US national shield. It did feature the bald eagle in front-facing relief with the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons.
Each coin is presented in a classy black box with a lovely outer sleeve that features an image of the coin's obverse and comes with an authenticity certificate.
The Morgan Dollar is a classic coin!
