1992 Chistopher Columbus Quincentenary Commemorative Silver Dollar, Proof
The obverse of the commemorative coin is a full-length portrait of Christopher Columbus. He is standing next to a globe on a pedestal, grasping a banner in his right hand and a scroll in his left hand. The background show the three sailing vessels, Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria.

The reverse features a split depiction of the U.S. Space Shuttle Discovery with the Earth and a star to the upper right of the shuttle, and the image of the Santa Maria on the other half.
