Creating passive income streams first takes a bunch of work before they actually get passive. Putting in the initial time and work and a bit of maintenance can go a long way in helping you reach your goal of passive income.
Selling your own designs that can be placed on many products is easier than you think. You do not need anything else than your imagination to get started! No initial money investment, no stockpile of products. Just upload your original art or text and start earning.
Don't get spooked by having to do a little work to achieve good things.

Redbubble.com
This is not a full guide on how to sell your products, I am sure that there is plenty of them out there. This is a simple check of one of many sites that do print on demand sales.
Here we are talking about redbubble.com where I established a shop 2 years ago. You can reach the shop here: tinyhumandesign.redbubble.com The sales have not been crazy but I also did not spend a single second promoting our designs. Nevertheless the shop made a few sales without any extra promotion.
The reason for this is that people actually visit redbubble to buy cool merch of all kinds. The more designs you have in your shop the better chances you have of making sales.
Of course, you will need a lot of designs to make actual big money. And the better your ideas and designs are the more people will find them. The fact that thousands of people visit redbubble to purchase products on a daily basis gives quite decent chances to sell something.
If you are not a designer of images you can still sell a bunch of t-shirts and stickers and whatsoever.
One of the best-selling items in our shop is this button:
This has been designed on the redbubble product design page where you simply can upload your own designs or just write text and put that on the product.
Every time it sells I make a small profit of a few cents.
Assets provided by redbubble
If you would like to promote your products or your shop you can easily do that by downloading product photos provided by the website. In fact, the first image has been modified by me in Adobe express I really wanted that pumpkin on the image.
Upload upload upload!
The more designs you upload the higher your chance of making sales. Go with evergreen content. Halloween, Christmas, Easter, insert generic holiday here.
If you have designs that work in several seasons you will have more sales.
As halloween is coming up people will start looking for halloween themed items. The more halloween designs you have the better your chances of someone choosing your design to have it on a shirt a tote bag a baseball cap or something else.
How the heck is this passive?
It is passive from the very moment you uploaded your design. Redbubble will handle sales and customer complaints, shipment and returns. The product only gets printed if someone actually buys it. So no huge storage and inventory you have to deal with.
You can upload a design every now and then, broadening your product palette. Each and every design will stay up on the site and will be visible in your shop at all times.
Speed up your sales
You can go and promote your products with a lot of providers directly from the site. Google Twitter Instagram and Pinterest are all options to boost your sales with ad campaigns.
If you want free tools use insta and pinterest to market your designs. Just link to your shop from your bio.
Or you can go ahead and spend money to make money. This however bears the risk of your ad campaign being more expensive than the profit you make on sales.
Also bear in mind that your profit margins will be quite low as the site is doing everything for you. Meaning you get a small royalty fee for each sale but it is not going to be top dollar.
The way you make money here is by big numbers. The more designs you have the higher your sales will be.
Can you show numbers?
Yes I can and as I said I have not been paying too much attention and most designs have been uploaded years ago.
These are the sales and transactions of payout to paypal.
This is the income of the past year. Completely passive since all designs are older than this date.
Of course, this is not life-changing money. I am sure you can make more if you are willing to promote your products more.
I will be working on that side of the business to have more and more people find the products in the coming months.
I will mainly work with blog posts and create Pinterest boards where I promote the various designs I already uploaded.
Too lazy for all of this?
Got to fiverr and get yourself a bro who designs 100 designs. Upload those to redbubble, pay for ads and lean back. IDK if this actually works but this gives you the no work done feeling if you need that.
Passive income is hard to achieve and mostly takes initial work so if you are too lazy for that maybe you are just too lazy for passive income?
Take action!
If you want to get started with your own redbubble shop and have questions do not be afraid to ask!
Registering requires KYC and you will have to do some digging but it works!
