One of the biggest wish of every Nigerian student is being able to work and study, which is definitely not possible for the kind of educational system we have. I go for classes from 9am to 6pm almost everyday. With this kind of schedule, which time do I have to find a part time job to work and earn some money to be able to cater for some of my needs; It is definitely not possible.
This is the struggle that most Nigerian students face while studying. It is very difficult for them to study and earn some cash which would be of great benefit to their day to day activities. The system in our education has made things tight for us already. That's why we have many starving students today; most especially in my country.
That is the foremost reason why I really do appreciate the existence of Hive and the opportunities it gives. It has helped me so well in times of struggle and hardship. I cannot forget the time when I had issues with no electricity for over 3 months in school; with hive, I was able to afford a generator to cover such struggle. With that same Hive, I was able to afford to fuel this generator when I am in need of electricity.
Now, imagine if I wasn't on Hive or knew nothing about hive. Imagine other students that were in that situation with no means of earning something to survive the struggle. Hive gives that means to them to make the bag while they study hard to make the grades.
Seeing the opportunities that Hive can offer to students, I bring in most of my creative friends to join Hive, build a Hive community in my University to further advertise hive to those that really need it.
Even with these opportunities hive gives to student to earn and learn, it is still very difficult to remain active on Hive and while studying. I face that challenge everyday; trying to engage, mentor newbies, curate them and also market Hive. The balance is quite tough for me seriously, but I cannot give up because you know why.
We all know how busy it can be for a student let alone being a student that studies engineering. That is me for instance, my life is fixed and pretty occupied with so many activities that I am into both inside and outside Hive. Most especially partaking with activities in the school.
But still, because of how important Hive is to me, I make sacrifices for those time and my friends asks me, how do you find time to hive? and I reply how do you find time to eat?. Now do you get it? Hive is my means of survival and it is something as important as my grades. The goal is to not just make the grades, but make the bag while bagging the grades.
If you check some of my videos, you would find that most of them are made probably 2-3am in the morning. That is practically when I find the time to make those videos and still spend another hours or sometimes while having lectures in class to edit my videos.
These are some of the difficulties I face as a student regarding time but no matter how tight it is for me; Hive is still made my very priority. It is a lot easier than a normal day to day job and still pays better than a 7am to 7pm job in my country.
So with this, I can say I am trying best towards making the bag through my activities on Hive while trying to study very hard and get good grades.
