As Hive Punk mania has receded, I wanted to brainstorm 10 ideas to see if any may help the project in any way. I also hope that those who initially sought tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars overnight on their $16 purchase are doing ok with the reality that we're going to have to work as a community to build demand and the price floor.
@themarkymark gave us the framework, and if we want these to be appreciated by the vast majority of the cryptosphere outside of Hive's walls, it's time to go to work.
I have no developer or coding experience, so I'm simply going to throw some ideas I brainstormed against the wall to see if any stick. If even one gets legs by someone capable, then this is a win for me. If not, well it doesn't hurt to try.
For scope, I only have 22 Hive Punks (some are above). I tried to buy 8 more at the end of the mint, and was the honorable bubble for being the first to be refunded for just missing the boat by one buyer. The last buyer grabbed 25 at the bell. He got a rare one with laser eyes that sold for a pretty penny. Could've been mine. Could've been anyone's. Live and learn.
I don't have intentions of listing my Punks for a while. I'd rather hold and try to build organic demand first. I didn't invest much, but this was my first true NFT minting process, and I'd like to see it through a bit more than trying to flip them overnight.
Umm, When Moon?!
Let's get into it...

10 Ideas To Try Help Build:
An option to temporarily/dynamically change the blank backdrop of our Punks to include the Hive Punks logo, the Hive logo, or even an embedded Hive Punks website link. Punks are our quickest and best marketing tool, and we can make them stand out more on social media this way.
A linked one-pager on the Hive Punks website spelling out how to get on Hive and buy a Hive Punk. It's safe to assume that most browsing the site who are foreign to Hive will have almost no clue how to get a Punk at the onset. Either way, we should remove a potential barrier of entry with a step-by-step guide. Why are Hive Punks worth the extra steps when there are plenty of other Punk alternatives on more popular chains?
A referral link for Hive users to share in tandem with above documentation to facilitate and incentive marketing efforts. There may be some gaming, but the larger whole would benefit with new activity and reinvigorated excitement.
Rare limited edition bodies, clothing, and accessories like shoes, backpacks, or props as incentives for those who verifiably bring new adopters in with their link, or some other benefit in future editions. Gala Games gave away several in-game token producing NFTs for those who brought referrals in and the community jumped all over it. These NFTs are very valuable now and produce yield.
This may be just fantasy, but can @blocktrades' exchange incorporate bridges to buy Hive Punks directly with supported non-Hive assets? With all of the Inter Blockchain Communication (IBC) developments blossoming with Cosmos Tendermint, I have a hunch that this would remove lots of resistance, while increasing revenue for the exchange.
This one sounds even more extreme, but why not? Can @splinterlands and @hivepunks collaborate? What if select punks were made into Promo Cards to battle with? Think Vox super valuable NFTs working into many blockchain games.
Can Hive Punk attributes be fractionalized and traded/sold? What if I wanted to upgrade just one attribute on my Punk and someone wanted to part with that said attribute? Sounds like an interesting sub-market to me, but I have no idea if this is possible.
Can Hive Punks eventually be wrapped in any way to facilitate easier transactions with those currently off-chain?
Can Hive Punks and a pool of current owners offer a limited free-account creation service on their home page to take away some of the red tape?
If any of these have been formally discussed or presented, I take no credit as the first besides noting that maybe there's something to them.
We need to create VALUE, not profit. Profit comes second.
Any strike a chord? Any doable, impossible, or just ridiculous? I don't know what I'm talking about, so I'm expecting them all to be simple talking points for those who see this (and hopefully Marky).
We got on the State of the Dapps, so that's something we should gain momentum from.
I feel it's best to try to build value than expect beautiful shimmery angel investors to magically flutter in and buy Punks at high ask prices in Q1. The initial greed and expectation that people would spend tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars on a $16 mint overnight was an initial concern, but reality is setting in and it's time to go to work if we want any worthwhile return.
On-chain demand isn't infinite, and these can go to zero. More projects will come out, create mania, and borrow the spotlight. Soooo, let's do something proactive now to grow the floor, generate momentum, and promote the best outcome possible while the opportunity is here. We simply can't do the usual and expect special results.
*Speaking of effort, I left #10 blank. Let's hear one idea from YOU. 1x 10 = 10 more diverse ideas instead of 1 more from me.
Happy Holidays,
