Hive has a very interesting payout situation.
Many focus upon what is being paid out today. This is how we are accustomed to looking at things. After all, we go to work, the paycheck shows up, and what ends up in our bank is what we get.
The reason for this is we are paid in currency that has a base value. While it can go up and down related to other currencies, few are actively trading in this manner. At the same time, we can see price increases (or decreases) affecting our purchasing power. Nevertheless, most times that goes unnoticed except in extreme cases.
Hence, if we earn $300, that is what we will get. If that number is going to be any higher, we must invest it in something that appreciates.
It is not the situation with Hive. Of course, there are two possible sides to the movement, something we have to keep in mind.
Nevertheless, Hive can provide the best return for our efforts.
Rewards That 10x
There are a number of different payouts options on Hive. We can opt for all our rewards to coming in the form of Hive Power. The second choice is to go with a 50/50 split where half is HP and the rest HBD.
When getting rewarded for upvotes relating to comments, it is an automatic 50/50 split.
Obviously, since HBD is a stablecoin, it is going to keep in the range of $1. Hence, this is not going to have much volatility as compared to $HIVE. The latter is where all the power is.
Since $HIVE is free floating in terms of market value, we can ride it up or down. This is no different than any other assets such as stock or commodities. Here is where we see the future potential of enormous wealth generated.
We can look at our posts and state that we are making between 25-50 cents. This would be a conclusion based upon the present value. If all of this was in HBD, it is end of story.
That said, what happens if the price of $HIVE does a 10x the next bull market? Suddenly, that 25-50 cents on each posts is worth between $2.50 and $5.00. How does that alter ones outlook?
To some even a few dollars is nothing to get excited about. This takes on a different connotation in many parts of the world. Here is where some would be sitting on money that can make a difference in their lives.
Based upon present market pricing, the above scenario comes true if $HIVE moves to roughly $3.50.
Imagine being in a situation whereby your $300 paycheck has the ability to become $3,000 simply by HODLing it.
Becoming A Hive Millionaire
Cryptocurrency is an arena that gets people's imagination going, at least during bull runs. Like the old adage, during those times everyone dreams of Lambos and mansions. Bears are obviously different yet the approach is still the same.
Utilizing what we just revealed, how much will it take for us to achieve this end? Remember, much of this is based upon the activity we choose to engage upon.
It does not take a math genius to figure out that attaining $1 million in lots of 25 or 50 cents is going to take a while. That will be 2-4 million posts. This can be done at 2 per day, it will just require a few lifetimes.
Of course, this changes when we 10x the numbers. Even still, a couple dollars per day means we are going to have be at it a very long time. It is easier than a few cents yet still rather challenging.
What happens if we have another 10x upon the original one? Instead of $3.50, what if $HIVE reaches $35? This means the posts today would have a value of $25-$50. Now we are getting somewhere.
Sadly, even at that level, it will take more than half a century.
How can we alter this?
To start, we can supplement the activity by adding comments. It is not uncommon to get a few upvotes on comments that can end up adding 10 or 20 cents to our payouts. Nothing major on its own yet astronomical if you look for a 10x or 100x.
We also have layer 2 tokens on Hive. This is often overlooked especially during the bear market because they are in the toilet also. That said, many are able to earn a similar amount in a community token. What happens if that does a 5x or 10x?
The numbers are painfully slow when mapping this out on a linear fashion. It all changes when we factor in the compounding effect on Hive. With each new addition, we can exponentially increase the amount of reward we are receiving. It does take some time but it happens for many.
A final component is that active people do tend to see their rewards grow from the level of a few cents per post. Here again, how do the numbers look if we can move our rewards to $1-$1.50 per post? Do the math on that as the price of $HIVE increases and we see how much shorter the path becomes.
Of course, all of this ignores curation and the 3% inflation adjustment on Hive Power. These are other components that feed into our trough as time passes.
In Conclusion
Compounding was called the 8th wonder of the world. The key aspect is time. Compounding in the short term does not net much. It is only after years do we even begin to see a minor difference. When it comes to investments, the major compounding impact occurs over decades.
Reverting back to Hive, what if you spent the next 10 years following the outline put forth here. A decade of active engagement sounds like a lot. However, where will one be if he or she does this? Even worse, where will that person be if it is not done.
Ten years from now, we will all be 10 years older. The question is what do our Hive wallets look like at that time? If we are active over the next decade, it is likely the numbers will be larger than today.
Our job is to get as much in there as possible. While we are doing that, we can only watch as markets take over. If they can 10x the price of the coin, we will watch the values of our holding appreciate significantly.
Perhaps we are not able to get to the millionaire level. What happens if we end up with a few hundred thousand dollars? Is there anything wrong with that?
This is the value of a long-term outlook on Hive. The compounding nature of the system means people will see exponential growth over that time. It is simply a matter of putting forth the effort and remaining consistent.
