When it comes to microblogging, Twitter is the king. There is no doubt we are in a race against Elon Musk who is looking to build the "Everything App". Fortunately, on Hive, we are constructing the "Everything Protocol".
As a subsection of that, we can see different project teams step up and take on Ole Elon. One of them is Leofinance.
There is no doubt many see the enormous potential of LeoThreads. We still are a couple updates away but we are getting closer to the point where Twitter was throughout most of its history.
When looking at the Blue Bird app, we have to keep in mind that, for many years, it was basic Tweeting. There were a number of features added in the past few years such as Spaces. However, for much of its history, it was the microblogging engagement.
This is the first level that LeoThreads needs to get to.
We just moves a step closer.
Filtering The Content
As with many things with Hive, filtering content can be a tad difficult. Since the release of the new UI into alpha, there was no way to do this other than clicking on the tags. Basically we were all relegated to the latest feed.
If there is anything we learned from the years on Hive, this results in people simply being puked on with content. There is a river going by with no way to stop it. Catch a post and read it before it disappears forever.
LeoThreads was like that. However, that is no more. While the Latest tab still exists (and is the default), we can now focus our attention on those we want to hear from.
The above screenshot shows how the Following option is now available. Click on that to see the Threads posted by those you are following. This will isolate the content. If you do not like what someone is Threading, simply unfollow them.
It is rather simple.
Of course, there are challenges. The team is well aware that the following posts everything done by those on the list. This can get rather cumbersome if you have a lot that you follow. Hence, the need to break it down into top line Threads as opposed to replies to other ones is vital.
This will come in the next update.
We are also promised Lists which is another way we will be able to filter who we get Threads from. If you like someone, put them on your list so you can catch all their content.

Thousands Of New Users
The Leogrowth team put this out as part of a Thread. To start, congratulations on showing some data. Numbers are important for those who truly own the ecosystem: the commuity.
As we can see, with 10 days left in the month, we need 121 users to top the previous high. The new UI, mostly due to LeoThreads, was resposible for the jump. However, we are operating at a much higher level than before.
Of course, we have to keep things in context. These numbers are rather pathetic. The goal has to be getting thousands of users on LeoThreads. Many tried it out and left. While we never can know what motivates people or why they take the action they do, it can be surmised that part of it could be attributed to not being able to filter.
This is not longer the case.
A few weeks ago we had a discussion on Cryptomaniacs and it was agreed that, year end MAUs for Leofinance should be around 25K. This is a minimal level for an application that offers basic microblogging along with rewards. In terms of Web 3.0 social media, that certainly would make one of the top applications.
To get there, naturally, more has to be done. The development isn't even close to being at that level. It is, however, moving in the right direction.
The first step is to get LeoThread on par with much of Twitter's history. It is safe to say the vast majority of users on that platform engage in the basic features. This is the level that LeoThreads needs to arrive at.
Once that is achieved, then we can incorporate other aspect of Web 3.0 that will truly make it stand out.
A major piece of the puzzle is going to be getting the ad revenue going. The more time on Threads that each person has, the better the results. This is, hopefully, going to put more Leo Power in our wallets.
Add in a Twitter log in and we might be good to go.
