We are in the early stages but cannot overlook the potential impact. Understanding these platforms could aid in sizing things up.

Companies are spending tens of billions of dollars to develop platforms that could be worth trillions. It is something that carries a degree of risk. The reward is obvious to these corporations.

We have seen this play out. Over the last couple decades, there was a convergence that caused a massive explosion within the digital world. We are going to see a repeat, only to a much larger degree.

The Exponential Moves of Robotics and AI

We often talk about exponential moves. It can get a bit overdone. However, this is not something we can really move away from. It is a fact that we have left the age of linear moves with regards to technology. AI is making Moore's Law look like slow growth.

The previous explosion that we witnessed was with the smartphone. That was something far more advanced than simply phone technology. It did start off as mobile but went far beyond it.

Ultimately, the smartphone was a platform that allowed applications to access the cloud. This had a massive impact on information (data). Since it became readily accessible, a lot more was generated. It formed the foundation for what is coming now.

So what are AI and robotics. This is the next two platforms that will become the standard. Like the smartphone, the tuility will stem from the applications that are resident. These will serve a presently unimaginable number of use cases.

Robotic and AI Platforms

By analyzing these from this perspective, we see a massive shift.

• AI a platform that will allow us to solve problems.

Hopefully, this conveys some of the potentiality. Consider how much different life was before the smartphone. Even from the information standpoint, things were archaic. There was a time where the idea of an application was novel. Now, it is a standard part of our lives.

Smartphones rapidly expanded the digital world. AI is bringing artificial units of cognition. It is the new basic unit for our progress forward. Robotics are an extension of this, a move from bits-to-atoms.

AI agents are akin to applications in the smartphone era. The difference is AI agents are automation. Robotis is an extension from the "mental" realm into the physical world.

The net result is difficult to imagine. We are going to see exponentials building upon each other. This is how convergence works. Robotics is advancing at a rapid pace, albeit slower than AI. What is built on these platforms will compound upon each other.

That is what convergence does.
