Day 30! Feedback about Inleo!
The UI, not this initiative
A timely topic as my Premium is almost at an end
The British vote with their feet
I can think of one big difference between the American public and the British public.
That concerns customer service.
If an American has bad service at a restaurant they will complain about it, as a rule if the same thing happened to a Brit then they would say nothing but never go back.
What has that got to do with the InLeo UI?
Well the Brits they vote with their feet.
Take the UI here at InLeo, we have been waiting a long, no let's be honest here, we have been waiting for a very long time for a stable UI. During this time countless people have voted with their feet, well their fingers in this case and not come back.
Not only am I British but I most certainly am of the one bitten twice shy vaiety.
Some months ago I was belittled both in public and in discord about stating the UI was unusable and it had so many frequent errors and crashes.
I am happy to say that those errors have come right down.
There have been many instances I have shown InLeo articles to non HIvian friends only to be sent back a screenshot of an error page.
You cannot gain and retain users when the UI is not user friendly, smooth and intuitive.
I believe we may be almost at that stage.
Random Errors
From time to time doing an action still causes a random error page to appear. However a simple page refresh fixes it.
Downtime (Planned and unplanned)
It seems they push any updates through on a weekend morning usually (for the UK anyway) as this is when the least amount of users are online. This is fair enough, as long as warning is given.
Of course the problem with pushing upgrades is that often you put something out of kilter.
So you still need to beware when publishing long form posts that you double check the community and tags have not vanished.
InLeo layout
I have my UI set up the way I like it with Blue and Dark as options. This makes it pleasing on my eyes.
The actual layout with two side panels and main panel I have got used to. Sometimes I think that the right panel is too wide just to have Trending Tags on it. But it is personal preference I think.
It does not detract from the UI speed or errors.
The structure is set such that new things can be added easily enough.
Features
First thing about the UI that you can see is all the user pfp's at the top of the page.
This indicates that they are hosting a threadcast. It is now a valuable resource that community members are running daily.
All kinds of threadcasts are setup for food, sports, news, travel and so much else.
There are quite a few socialfi apps on the market and InLeo really needs to be at the top of it's game to attract users.
That is done by external users seeing a vibrant feed. This is down to the community to provide.
I believe there are features to come, LeoShorts, LeoAds, LeoAI etc but until they are operational on the UI I will not mention them.
Outside of the crashing UI the other concern about InLeo UI was the promise of features that never materialise.
Would I recommend people use InLeo?
You will really see in numbers what I think of InLeo tomorrow when I publish my July progress report.
I say that because it was only in July that I came back properly yo give the UI one final blast.
It is embarassing giving people links to InLeo that did not work. You can't tell someone to clear cache etc.
That is not fucking professional infact it is not even amateurish it is just pure downright garbage!
But the strides albeit much later than promised that have been taken with the UI have not gone unnoticed.
It is rare that Hiving on InLeo UI is interupted now.
Therefore ....
☑️ YES I will recommend people use InLeo?
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my response to the prompt.
