You still can't escape the PANDEMIC!!
I had to laugh when I saw this. (I kind of wish it said "KUNG FLU OUTBREAK".) But I mean, come on... a simulated pandemic event which temporarily infects my population and reduces my income? A pandemic, of all things right now?!
So Who Else Is Playing DCity?
Now that I've gotten that off my chest, I'm curious how many of you already know and love DCITY. I'm sure there are a lot of you... and your cities probably put mine to shame. I'm only a week or two into it though, so let's wait to compare flag poles.
For the uninitiated: DCity is a Hive-based game that allows you to grow a city that rewards you with a handful of different tokens: SIM, WEED, BEER, GAMER, and ENTRY. The SIM token is the main game currency, and the others will vary based on how you build your city.
It actually has a pretty complex financial ecosystem with taxes and governance... it is very, very cool. And it can end up being quite profitable over time. I personally invested some of my Hive to get started, and I recommend giving yourself a running start so you can earn more. But play around with it, if you haven't already, and see what you think.
There's even an auction section where they sell cards (your city's assets: buildings, people, etc.) and art NFTs. If you buy any art, it will appear in your gallery and you'll get a small share of the auction proceeds... AND you'll be eligible to win free NFT artworks from that point on too!
Super cool, right?
It's definitely the most addictive crypto game I've found, but I think it may also prove to be the most profitable. I expect the SIM token to have a nice, long ride as the game gets more popular too, so I feel really good about it.
Maybe some of you DCity veterans can share a tip or two for maximizing income from your own experience, or your financial strategy for the tokens you pile up from the gameplay. Anything at all that might be helpful.
These negative events-- like the pandemic, or a power outage-- do happen occasionally though, I've noticed. I don't let it get me down... I'm just joking when I sound upset. Incomes also fluctuate based on who's governing. These elements help keep the game interesting and to curb the SIM rewards a little bit.
