Recently, the hacking patterns used by hackers have increased and this has raised a very big concern on wallet security, exchanges be it centralized or decentralized. The format used by hackers keep getting advanced and it has so been a thing of much carefulness that one don't just copy crypto addresses from somewhere, save it in the clipboard and paste for further transactions, you just have to verify the addresses once again before proceeding. It's no longer a rossy place and nothing no matter how legit, cool and promising it is, one shouldn't just overlook it because there might be a bomb waiting to detonate at any moment if serious carefulness isn't employed on it.
Deception rates leading to attack by hackers in the crypto space keeps getting upgraded and that is the more reason why crypto enthusiasts should be really careful out there and be updated on what is the latest security measures to be taken so as not to be taken unawares because it's getting dangerous out there. The fact is that one that haven't been a victim yet can boast of how careful and precise he or she is until the cat is been let loosed from the corridor.
Eventually, at the end of the day, we are having more enemies than friends in the crypto space because any slightest opportunities, an attack is been launched. One might think and feel secured because of the way the passwords looks too difficult to be hacked, the arrangements of the alphabets both in capital and small, figures, symbols and the rest which is actually nice but if by any means the password isn't kept safe, notwithstanding what the wallet might be holding as worth, if a hackers holds on it, the end will be a history.
More Enemies than Friends
As the crypto market is so volatile and fragile, so as our accounts and wallets if the needed precautionary steps to keep them safe aren't employed. The more the number of people Onboarded into the crypto space, the more enemies we get because to some, they aren't there for to learn, invest and get the profits tied to the crypto market rather they are there to cause a misfortune by hacking into vulnerable accounts. We collectively are asking for massive onboarding and liberty of making crypto known and accepted in countries but we fail to understand that we are still opening doors of attacks from enemies.
A month or two back, I read a thread from @mrhive001 were he commented that he mistakenly sent 81 hive tokens to a hive account which according to him was not intended to. He said that the transaction was meant to be from hive blockchain to a centralized exchange called BINNACE with a username bdhivesteem but because of a slight mistake sent the coin to a hive account called @bdh and ever since then has tried to reach to the owner of the account but all to no avail and till date haven't gotten hia token back. I have tried following him up to check his subsequent engagement but no progress probably he has lost too big that the doesn't find the encouragement to continue or for some reasons which I don't know. This was just a case study of some users being inhuman to be considerate to return what isn't there's.
This was just a little story of how inhuman some people Onboarded into the crypto space can be and how dangerous it is or looks like when an account is gotten or mistakenly hacked. The crypto space isn't funny nor is it rosy, many out there aren't in this space to work hard for the money or invest wisely so as to get the gains rather are here to target accounts, have access to it and make away with whatsoever that's in it. We aren't just brooding friend in this space but enemies too, infact frenemies.
Get this Straight
Its important to know that most times we are the ones that open the door, inviting hackers to take over our belongings in the crypto space by the things we engage in and from some ill habits that make our accounts prone to attack. The following makes our accounts prone to attack:
1.) Using a particular password for all our accounts. Regardless of how tough, strict and balanced is, a password shouldn't be used to cover multiples of accounts or wallets. At least even if one is using the same password again, there should be a slight difference from the old one.
2.) The habit of being interested in any crypto project without doing a background check of what is involved in the project, pressing and opening any click sent and being free linking bank cards makes an account or wallet vulnerable for an attack.
3.) Installing any or different kinds of applications and given the application right to access our delicate informations is dangerous to our wallets and accounts because there are applications that are spy and works for hackers which have the ability to spy through and change wallet addresses without the notice of the owner of account.
4.) Always make sure you check, recheck and cross-check accounts and wallets before carrying out any transactions.
