And with that, I will never recommend @ProtonPrivacy if I can at all help it, and I certainly will advise against companies entering into business agreements with them.
While I wasn't involved with Dash back then, in 2016 the Dash Core team worked with Proton to integrate Dash as a payment option, and Proton agreed, and even said so publicly (linked below). They may even have been paid (there were Dash treasury proposals to fund the integration).
Abruptly, they just went silent for 9 long years, until community pestering finally got them to answer. Which they did with casual disdain, saying their commitment was just "a tweet." No apology, no explanation, no nothing. Not a great way of doing business.
I highlight great companies and projects I do business with. Sometimes I have to do the opposite. ☹️
Let this be a warning: this is what happens when you do business with Proton.
