This year I think it will be a year in which a new era will begin in the world of cryptocurrencies, there are many events in development that could change this forever and in a way that many do not even imagine, read this article until the end to find out what the key events are for this year and how I think they could change the crypto ecosystem forever.
I'm going to start by talking about Bitcoin, which is undoubtedly the most important cryptocurrency and the one that has the upper hand in the market. For months now, several important institutions in the world of finance, whose names I won't mention because we all know them, have been interested in creating Bitcoin futures and spot Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) and so far the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has managed to stop them but I don't think it can. continue doing it and end up approving these ETFs, but what does all this mean and why is it important for the crypto ecosystem, the fact that Bitcoin can be listed on the stock market would make many who until now had not been interested in our ecosystem begin to look at it with others eyes and I'm sure that it wouldn't take long for ETFs of other cryptocurrencies to appear and the prices would surely go a little crazy. I am not going to talk about what would happen if these ETFs were not approved because I am sure that would end up happening.
Another issue to take into account is the Halving, an event that always brings uncertainty among crypto enthusiasts but that until now has always behaved in the same way, marking a takeoff in the price of Bitcoin and I think that this time when it takes flight it will to fly much higher than we expect and can believe, although I don't think it will reach a million as many think, but I hope I am wrong and have to retract my words, I would gladly do so.
Something that has been going strong in Bitcoin although many Maxis do not like it are Ordinals, although at first I did not look favorably on them, these have evolved to the point that I think they would bring more benefits than misfortunes to the blockchain and I am sure that Their development will continue and they will add more and more value to Bitcoin.
I believe that these are the main events surrounding Bitcoin and although I treat them separately and each one points towards growth, imagine if the three events are combined and I am sure that will be the case. The only thing I'm sorry about is not having all the Bitcoin that I would like to have.
There are other important events in the crypto world that, along with those we already saw and consider to be the most important.
In Ethereum, the Dencun update, if everything goes well, will mark a before and after in this blockchain. It is expected that this update can greatly improve its scalability and can surpass the currently existing layer 2 solutions. But what is most expected is proto-danksharding which would allow nodes to temporarily store data and retrieve data outside the network, further streamlining transactions. This improvement must be followed closely because I believe it has a lot of potential for improvement in Ethereum.
I think non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will become important this year and could help drive interest in the crypto ecosystem. They are already being used in different sectors, highlighting real estate, although last year there was an increase in interest in NFTs despite the number of junk projects that exist, this year that increase is going to be greater, even greater than what we expected. We hope, the number of scenarios in which their use can be exploited is increasing and more and more companies are interested in incorporating them. So I think this will be the definitive year for its almost massive use.
Something that I think will gain a big boost this year are decentralized social networks and although there is still a lot to do to achieve mass adoption, more and more users are migrating towards them. Last year there was a trend towards migration and I think this year it will grow exponentially.
Finally, I want to talk about something that is at its boiling point and has the potential to change any panorama and I think it will be closely linked to the growth of cryptocurrencies, as many can guess, Artificial Intelligence (AI). Last year the progress was enormous, the truth is I don't even know what to expect for this year, what I am sure is that everything will improve significantly and cryptocurrencies and blockchain are not immune to this. I hope that important milestones will be achieved that will help the development of the ecosystem and can drive mass adoption.
I don't want to leave without first mentioning our Hive house, which has enormous potential and a fantastic community. I will not mention its virtues and defects because we all know them, what I do want to say is that I see good expectations for this year, I think that VSC will bring many good things, @holozing promises a lot and could attract many people to play it and end up staying in Hive and @leofinance(Inleo) who is doing a very good job can give a big boost to the blockchain. Be careful with @aliento I see people working hard there to improve, hopefully they have some surprises in store.
