I think the coming bull market will be about privacy and autonomy
In fact, just before the market turn around in December I made a post about why I thought this to be the case. Just like clockwork, the market did its swing around in January (like all other bull markets!) and we have had a good rally so far.
What if people start to demand these basic human rights of privacy and freedom and crypto is the technology which could hand it to them? What if this is realized on a massive scale? If it is being realized then this might be one of the biggest crypto bull markets ever, in which we will see the decoupling from the legacy economy. If there is a growing demand for private transactions and storing wealth there is no better technology than decentralized crypto.
Of course this coming bull market will have many themes like web 3, Defi 2.0, NFTs 2.0 and more, but priavcy will be one of the biggest ones I believe simply because people will not just want to hand over all of their rights to the governments. There will be a pushback, and crypto is a way to make that happen.
Spillways makes transactions anonymous
The way it works is that you can send ETH to a wallet where it gets mixed with other transactions so that yours cannot be identified. There are of course other ways/chains of doing this, but the focus of Spillways currently is to use native coins like ETH (more are coming) and mix them. In that way one does not have to buy other coins first (like Monero).
But there is more...
One can also buy a VISA card with ETH (more coins to come). This is important because currently it is still necessary to have crypto off ramps so one can spend crypto in the legacy economy. You can either deposit 0.1 or 1 ETH and get a credit card the amount deposited minus a fee of 7%. While this is quite a bit of a premium it does work. I am hoping that more projects like this will pop up so that the fees can become more competitive.
