Last week I told you about an experiment we are making in the IP Address Guide in which we compare the performance of 11 different OlympusDAO forks. The experiment started on December 8th and it will be running for at least one month, but to be honest, the real thing would be to keep it running for at least one entire year. That is when the true value and purpose would come forth, not only with the DAOs we are testing but the concept itself!
But, let me return to the experiment.
What was the experiment about?
We took 11 well-known and popular OlympusDAO forks and invested $1000 in each. After that, we just lean back and see the results from week to week. And believe me, you can look at them from day to day, but things are changing so quickly that you will turn into a mess if you look too often at the numbers.
For example, during the first week, our Jade Protocol investment which started with $1000 went up to $1250, and then in the end, it landed at $900. HectorDAO went from $1000 to $1150, and then in the end, ended up $725. But, let us not forget, this isn't a race meant to last for a week only, but these are meant to be treasury-backed currencies, with a promised value that will be around for a very long time.
No matter what, Jade Protocol was the best performing of all the eleven cryptos included in the test, and even though it was the best, it still went down in value. The worst performer was FortressDAO which actually lost more than half of its value in one week. But, I do know that they are working hard on the protocol, so I am curious to see how it will perform long-term.
