Introduction
Welcome, reader, crypto enthusiast, trader, curious, to "The Trader's Path" a section that we begin today and I hope will last for a long, long time.
Here, we will address topics of vital importance that will help you get started in trading and the exciting world of investments in general. This is not an article filled with technical jargon and convoluted words to make it look more professional. I'm going to share and teach you through my own experiences, those of friends and acquaintances, using simple language so you feel comfortable and the learning curve is accessible.
I'm sure your mind has already started imagining things, charts, candles, millionaire strategies; let me tell you to "slow down." We're not heading in that direction. There are hundreds of courses on the web for that, most of which are pure hype. Here, in our space, we'll talk about other things, the ones that few tell you about, the ones that truly make a difference. Because even if you don't understand technical analysis, charts, candles, those can be learned quickly. Look on YouTube, and in a month, you'll be drawing trendlines or identifying order blocks, supports, and resistances; a piece of cake. But the real key to success for a trader or an investor lies in mastering your psychology, your emotions, and my friend, no one can teach you that. Speaking of stories, how about I "tell" you a bit about who I am and also give you the first lesson you need to learn.
Getting Started in Trading
My name is Leandro, on social media, everyone knows me as UnCubanoMas and as you might guess, I'm Cuban ("Living in Cuba?" Oh, don't even get me started, that's a topic for another article). I'm a university graduate, studied Fine Arts, and I'm a teacher. Studies were never a challenge for me; I was one of those who just needed to pay attention in class, and the knowledge would stick in my mind. No burning the midnight oil before exams or cheating – school was a piece of cake.
I started trading about 4 years ago, looking for an income source to escape the absurdity that is the Cuban economy. So, when I decided to start, I entered with the confidence that years of no effort to learn had given me.
Oh boy, was I wrong. The market tied me up in knots, kicked me right there, in that spot, and shattered me to pieces. But that's okay, I caught my breath – or rather, replenished the funds from my first burnt account. I brushed off the dust and tried again, and tried again, and tried again. Each time, I came out defeated and a little poorer, which was the opposite of what I was seeking.
Persistence is the Key.
Fortunately for me, I'm not one to give up easily, and each setback only made me more focused. It's like tunnel vision – you know what that is, right? When you focus so much on an object that it's all you see, and everything else becomes dark and blurry. For the first time in my life, I felt that my capacity and intelligence were truly being put to the test. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I'm a super intelligent genius. Before trading, I had the fortune of a smooth journey, and having a challenge felt good – it still does, even after all this time.
I had to take things calmly and study – really study. Squeeze more than 24 hours out of a day and find time to learn between two jobs and a newborn baby. Along the way, I met people who helped me a lot, as well as many who were just selling smoke. Another skill you'll develop is the ability to filter information, holding onto the good and eliminating the noise. Because when it comes to learning, the most important thing is not to waste your time, as you can never get it back.
Today's Lesson
The most important lesson I learned, and the one I want to share with you today, is that trading is a battle, a Champions League match, a game of chess where you're competing against others to reach your goal. If you're not going to give it 200%, if you're not committed and don't take it seriously, the person on the other side of the screen, your opponent, will take your share. Let me tell you now – there are easier ways to make money, requiring far less commitment to master.
There's a statistic you've probably heard: 95% of traders consistently lose money; the other 5% walk away with the profits – survival of the fittest, the smartest, the most capable, pure natural selection. You might think I'm being too intense or dramatic, but if you decide to stay, you'll see I'm right.
The most challenging part of belonging to that elite group is mastering your emotions, shedding the bad habits and indiscipline that have become part of your personality, things you're hardly even aware of. I'm in that process – reprogramming my source code. This hasn't only helped me become a profitable trader; it's also made me a better person – more disciplined, focused, productive, objective, and humble. The habits you learn in the market, you carry with you when you're outside. So, think of this journey as a life project that will not only help you make money but will shape you into someone better and stronger.
You Will Make Mistakes.
Sadly, I also have to tell you that there's a good chance you'll make the same mistakes I did, which I'll be sharing in upcoming articles. Because no one learns from others' mistakes, and the skills of a trader can only be gained through practice and time – the experience of hours spent in front of a screen, looking at charts, making mistakes, and learning from them.
But when you feel frustrated, when you want to give up and throw in the towel, when you feel you can't take it anymore, remember this article, remember me. Find this section and read. I'm sure there will be anecdotes I've shared that reflect the situation you're in, and you'll understand that it's possible, that there are people walking alongside you on this path. We're here to help you, to help each other, and grow together. Human leverage (I love this term, and I'm 90% sure I invented it).

Bienvenido lector, criptoentusiasta, trader, curioso a “El Camino del Trader” una sección que comenzamos hoy y espero que dure mucho pero mucho tiempo.
Aquí vamos a tratar temas de vital importancia que te ayudarán a iniciar en el trading y el apasionante mundo de las inversiones en general. Este no es un artículo lleno de tecnicismos y de palabras rebuscadas que lo harán lucir más profesional. Te voy a contar y enseñar a través de mis propias experiencias, las de amigos y conocidos, con un vocabulario simple para que te sientas cómodo y la curva de aprendizaje sea accesible.
Seguro ya tú cabeza comenzó a imaginarse cosas, gráficos, velas, estrategias millonarias, me toca decirte “pon el freno” no van por ahí los tiros, de esos cursos hay cientos en toda la web y la mayoría son puro humo, aquí, en este nuestro espacio vamos a hablar de otras cosas, las que pocos te cuentan, las que realmente marcan la diferencia porque, aunque aún no lo entiendas lo del análisis técnico, los gráficos, las velas, eso se aprende rápido, busca en Youtube y en un mes estarás trazado líneas de tendencia o marcando orderblocks, soportes y resistencias, pan comido, pero la verdadera clave del éxito para un trader o un inversor está en dominar tu psicología, tus emociones y eso amigo nadie te lo puede enseñar. Hablando de cuentos, que te parece si te “cuento” un poco quien soy y ya de paso te dejo la primera lección que necesitas aprender.
Iniciar en el trading
Mi nombre es Leandro, en redes todos me conocen como UnCubanoMas y como podrás adivinar soy cubano (¿Lo de vivir en Cuba? Uff no me busques la lengua, es tema para otro artículo). Soy graduado universitario, estudié Artes Plásticas y soy maestro, los estudios nunca supusieron un reto para mí, yo era de los que solamente necesitaba estar atento en clase y los conocimientos quedaban grabados en mi mente, nada de quemar pestañas hasta el amanecer antes de los exámenes, ni hacer trampas, la escuela para mí fue pan comido.
Comencé en el trading hace alrededor de 4 años buscando una fuente de ingresos que me ayudara a escapar del sinsentido que es la economía cubana, así que cuando me decidí a iniciar entré con esa confianza que me daban años de poco esfuerzo para aprender.
Aaaaamigo cuán equivocado estaba, el mercado me hizo un nudo, me pateó ahí, en esa zona y me devolvió hecho pedazos. No pasa nada, recuperé el aliento o mejor dicho repuse el dinero de mi primera cuenta quemada , me sacudí el polvo y lo volví a intentar, y lo volví a intentar y lo volví a intentar. Cada una de las veces salí derrotado y un poco más pobre que era todo lo contrario a lo que estaba buscando.
Persistir es la clave.
Por suerte para mí no soy de rendirme fácilmente y cada revés solo me hizo enfocarme más, se me puso visión de túnel, sabes lo que es eso? Cuando te enfocas tanto en un objeto que es lo único que ves y todo lo demás se vuelve oscuro y borroso. Por primera vez en la vida sentí que mi capacidad e inteligencia eran realmente puestas a prueba, no me malinterpretes no estoy diciendo que sea un genio súper inteligente, simplemente antes del trading tuve la suerte de andar por un camino de rosas, y la verdad tener un reto se sentía bien, se siente bien, aún después de tanto tiempo.
Tocó tomarse las cosas con calma y estudiar, estudiar de verdad, sacarle más de 24 horas al día y encontrar el tiempo para aprender entre 2 trabajos y un bebé recién nacido. En el camino conocí personas que me ayudaron un montón y también a muchas que solo vendían humo, otra de las habilidades que obtendrás es la capacidad de filtrar información para ir quedándote solo con lo bueno y eliminar el ruido porque lo más importante a la hora de formarte es no malgastar tu tiempo puesto que nunca lo podrás recuperar.
La Lección de Hoy.
La lección más importante que aprendí y es la que te quiero compartir hoy es que el trading es una batalla, un partido de Champions, un juego de ajedrez donde te enfrentas a otras personas por alcanzar tu objetivo y si no vas a dar el 200%, si no te comprometes y te lo tomas en serio el que está al otro lado de la pantalla, tu enemigo, se va a quedar con tu parte. Desde ahora te lo digo hay formas más fáciles de ganar dinero y que requieren muchísimo menos compromiso para dominarlas.
Hay una estadística que seguro has leído, el 95% de los traders pierden dinero constantemente, ese otro 5% se queda con el dinero, la supervivencia del más fuerte, del más inteligente, del más apto, pura selección natural. Podrás pensar que estoy siendo demasiado intenso o teatral pero si decides quedarte ya me darás la razón.
Lo más complicado para pertenecer a ese grupo élite es dominar tus emociones, borrar de tu cabeza muchas malas costumbres e indisciplina que se volvieron parte de tu personalidad y que apenas eres consciente ellas. Yo estoy en ese proceso, reprogramando mi código fuente, no solo me ha servido para convertirme en un trader rentable, también me ha hecho mejor persona, más disciplinado, enfocado, productivo, objetivo, humilde, porque las costumbres que aprendes en el mercado te las llevas contigo cuando estás fuera. Así que piensa en este viaje como un proyecto de vida que no solo te ayudará a ganar dinero sino que te forjará en alguien mejor y más fuerte.
Tú vas a cometer errores.
Tristemente también tengo que decirte que hay muchas posibilidades de que cometas los mismos errores que yo cometí y que te iré contando en siguientes artículos, porque nadie escarmienta por cabeza ajena y las habilidades de un trader solo se obtienen con la práctica y el tiempo, la experiencia que te dan horas sentado frente a una pantalla mirando gráficos, cometiendo errores y aprendiendo de ellos.
Pero cuando te sientas frustrado, cuando tengas ganas de rendirte y bajar las manos, cuando sientas que ya no puedes mas, recuerda este artículo, recuérdame, busca esta sección y lee, seguramente tendré alguna anécdota publicada que será reflejo de la situación que estás viviendo y entenderás que si se puede y que hay gente acompañándote por el camino, que estamos aquí para ayudarte, ayudarnos y crecer juntos, apalancamiento humano (me encanta este término y estoy 90% seguro que yo lo inventé).
