The implementation of new technologies may take time to become useful and efficient. Today Binance has made a very important announcement about one of the most influential cryptocurrencies of all times; Bitcoin. In the press release we are informed that the integration of Bitcoin on the Lightning Network has been completed, and that we will be able to use that network when depositing and withdrawing BTC, now in a much faster way and at a lower cost.
La implementación de nuevas tecnologías tal vez lleve su tiempo hasta que sean útiles y eficientes. El día de hoy Binance ha hecho un anuncio muy importante sobre una de las criptomonedas más influyentes de todos los tiempos; el Bitcoin. En el comunicado se nos hace saber que se logró completar la integración de Bitcoin sobre la Lightning Network, y que podremos utilizar esa red al momento de depositar y retirar BTC, ahora de una manera mucho más rápida y a un menor costo.
One of the main reasons why the Lightning Network was created was to solve scalability issues. For this reason, instant transactions are possible as the transaction travels through the second Bitcoin network layer, reducing network congestion significantly. Not only that, you will also notice a reduction in the network fee, resulting in cheap transactions.
Una de las mayores razones por la que se creó la Lightning Network fue para solucionar los problemas de escalabilidad. Por esta razón, es posible realizar transacciones instantáneas ya que la transacción viaja por la segunda capa de red Bitcoin, reduciendo el congestionamiento de la red de manera significativa. No solo eso, también se notará una reducción en la comisión de red, lo que resulta en transacciones baratas.
From my point of view it is a wise move, as it is an optimal way to make payments that require instantaneousness, or at least an optimal way to send or receive cryptocurrencies. I have no doubt that this will be increasingly used worldwide, for example for use in commerce, and that undoubtedly makes me think of our HIVE / HBD, and the similarity with which it is being used in some stores in Venezuela making use of this currency to make payments, taking trade to another level.
Desde mi punto de vista es un acierto, pues es una manera óptima de realizar pagos que requieren de la instantaneidad, o al menos una forma óptima de enviar o recibir criptomonedas. No dudo de que esto será cada vez más utilizado en el mundo entero, por ejemplo para su uso en comercios, y eso indudablemente me hace pensar en nuestro HIVE / HBD, y la similitud con la que se está usando en algunos comercios de Venezuela haciendo uso de esta moneda para realizar pagos, llevando el comercio a otro nivel.
For this reason, I believe that we should see how this technology develops, because if we are talking about fast, efficient transactions, with no scalability problems, our platform is ideal to represent a breakthrough for all those who use it.
Por esa razón, yo creo que deberíamos ver cómo se va desarrollando esta tecnología, pues si hablamos de transacciones rápidas, eficientes, y que no tiene problema de escalabilidad, nuestra plataforma es ideal como para suponer un avance para todos lo que la utilicen.
The Lightning Network eliminates the need for network confirmations, which reduces the waiting time for a transaction to arrive. In fact, lately I started using Bitcoin Cash, and knowing that it is not Bitcoin itself, it also takes a while for a transaction to be confirmed. Just the other day they had blocked them for me, so I had to wait for the transfer to complete, and to tell the truth, it took its good minutes, making the payment I had to make take longer than expected.
La Lightning Network elimina la necesidad de las confirmaciones de red, lo que reduce el tiempo de espera para la llegada de una transacción. De hecho, últimamente comencé a utilizar Bitcoin Cash, y sabiendo que no es la propia Bitcoin, también tarda un poco en que se confirme una transacción. Justamente el otro día me los habían bloqueado, por lo que tuve que esperar a que se complete la transferencia, y a decir verdad, tardó sus buenos minutos, haciendo que el pago que tenía que hacer se retrase más de la cuenta.
The fact that only one channel is used for a transaction in Lightning Network is something that ensures the privacy of the transaction, since it is not reflected in the Bitcoin block chain. From what I understand, this network is focused on the use of micro payments, such as paying in a business where they serve coffee using this means of payment, although to my assumption one can send a larger amount to make another type of payment, being 0.05 BTC the maximum that one can deposit in Binance.
El hecho de que se utilice un solo canal para una transacción en Lightning Network es algo que asegura la privacidad de la transacción, pues esta no se refleja en la cadena de bloques de Bitcoin. Por lo que tengo entendido, esta red está enfocada en el uso de micro pagos, como por ejemplo pagar en algún negocio donde sirvan café utilizando este medio de pago, aunque a mi suponer uno puede enviar una cantidad más grande para hacer otro tipo de pago, siendo 0.05 BTC lo máximo que uno puede depositar en Binance.
Network congestion had been very high, further intensifying network commissions. It was especially noticeable when a new BRC-20 standard was implemented, allowing the creation and transfer of tokens based on the Ordinals protocol, which we had mentioned in a previous post. The operation is very similar to what can be found on the Ethereum network but with different functions.
La congestión de la red venía siendo muy alta, intensificando aún más las comisiones de red. Sobre todo se notó cuando se aplicó un nuevo estándar BRC-20, que permitía la creación y transferencia de tokens basados en el protocolo Ordinals, que habíamos hecho mención en un post anterior. El funcionamiento es muy similar a lo que se puede encontrar en la red de Ethereum pero con funciones diferentes.
On a side note, here at Hive user @brianoflondon continues to develop and refine an app (v4v.app) where you can convert Hive or HBD to BTC over the Lightning network, which is really exciting, and something I hope to give a try soon.

Obviously at Binance we have other network formats through which to send Bitcoin, such as BEP20, BEP2, SegWit, and ERC20. Without testing them all, I know very well that the Lightning Network will offer us great advantages in our expansion into the ever evolving crypto adoption.
Obviamente en Binance tenemos otros formatos de red por los que enviar Bitcoin, como por ejemplo BEP20, BEP2, SegWit, y ERC20. Sin probarlos a todos, sé muy bien que la Lightning Network nos ofrecerá grandes ventajas en nuestra expansión a la adopción criptográfica que cada vez evoluciona mucho más.
