Definitivamente se han visto avances significativos en materia blockchain. Cada una de ellas han mejorado muchísimo con respecto a tecnologías de base, como por ejemplo podemos mencionar Ethereum, que de alguna manera es válido interpretar que fue el catalizador de la creación de nuevas cadenas de bloques de segunda capa, con motivo de brindar soluciones a los problemas de escalabilidad, rendimiento y costos de red.
Desde esta perspectiva, los ecosistemas integrados en las nuevas cadenas han permitido una expansión sinigual, a la vez que una mayor cantidad de usuarios se unían a ellas, con el desencadenante de que también se alimentaría la red de un mayor flujo de ingresos. Es muy probable que hayamos visto a Solana lograr esto y mucho más, y posicionarse como uno de los grandes exponentes en materia de tecnología de avanzada. Uno de los protocolos que está tomando interés por parte de varios entusiastas es MONAD. Se trata de una blockchain de capa 1 que mejora absolutamente todas las características de Ethereum y que está en fase de prueba abierta a todo público. Lo llamativo es que el mismo proyecto menciona que es mil veces más rápido que Ethereum, mantiene compatibilidad al 100% con EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine), soluciona de forma drástica la escalabilidad a través de una reducción a cero en tarifas de gas, y se menciona que los requisitos de hardware se han vuelto extremadamente bajos, lo que podemos llegar a inferir en que participar en la red a través de nodos o validación, será posible sin requerir equipos costosos.
También deberíamos hablar de varias ventajas que hacen a esta blockchain disponer de un enorme potencial cuando llegue el momento del lanzamiento de la mainnet. Entre ellas se encuentra la posibilidad que tiene la cadena de soportar un gran número de transacciones, las cuales pueden llegar a ser de hasta 10 mil transacciones por segundo, en bloques de hasta 1 segundo, lo cual es realmente increíble si lo vemos con respecto a la cantidad de usuarios que día a día están ingresando al ecosistema. Según LayerHub se estima que hay un total de 21 millones de participantes realizando operaciones en la testnet de MONAD.

El procesamiento de las transacciones se realiza en paralelo a través del uso de múltiple máquinas virtuales, lo que deriva en que se haga una predicción de las dependencias con la finalidad de lograr optimizar código, mientras se fusionan los resultados obtenidos de manera secuencial, lo que permite que el orden de ejecución de las operaciones sea válido.

Esta característica me parece increíble desde el punto de vista tecnológico. Pensemos en que se requiere una comunicación entre nodos, y suele constar de tres fases. MONAD ha logrado reducir esto a solo dos fases, en las que se utilizará un mecanismo de consenso BFT personalizado que es derivado del algoritmo HotStuff. Con esto en mente, podemos coincidir en que la reducción de nodos está asegurada, pero también la reducción en lo que es la latencia de la red debido a su arquitectura y optimización.

El rendimiento de la cadena de bloques se ve optimizada gracias a la implementación de una base de datos personalizada. El acceso al almacenamiento se ve favorecida por medio de una estructura de datos funcional, llamada Merkle Patricia Trie (MPT). Además teniendo presente la característica de acceso paralelo de la blockchain, veremos una gran eficiencia al momento de realizar ejecuciones de la información en contenida en esos datos.
No olvidemos mencionar que también es importante la presencia de los datos que se nos presenta en tiempo real a través del estado. Gran parte del estado (los datos en tiempo real en una blockchain) está almacenado en SSD en vez de RAM, así repercutiendo favorablemente en la reducción de los requisitos y costos de RAM, pero también permite que esta misma pueda participar en la red a través del hardware de consumo.
Optimistic Parallel Execution

I find this feature incredible from a technological point of view. Think of it as requiring communication between nodes, and usually consisting of three phases. MONAD has managed to reduce this to only two phases, which will use a custom BFT consensus mechanism that is derived from the HotStuff algorithm. With this in mind, we can agree that node reduction is assured, but also reduction in what is network latency due to its architecture and optimization.

The performance of the blockchain is optimized thanks to the implementation of a custom database. Storage access is favored by means of a functional data structure, called Merkle Patricia Trie (MPT). Moreover, bearing in mind the parallel access characteristic of the blockchain, we will see a great efficiency at the time of performing executions of the information contained in these data.
Let's not forget to mention that the presence of the data presented to us in real time through the state is also important. Much of the state (the real-time data in a blockchain) is stored in SSD instead of RAM, thus having a favorable impact on reducing RAM requirements and costs, but also allowing RAM to participate in the network through the consuming hardware.

Probablemente estemos hablando de una blockchain descentralizada basada en el protocolo PoS (Proof-of-Stake) con gran potencial a futuro.
